for me, its suntour, have used a suntour xcp75 for a year on and off road then sold it to a friend and he used it for 6 months then i re-purchase it and sold it to another friend of mine and its still going strong, im not a fan of suntour before, but it prove itself worthy. dont know about the gts though, havent used one yet but a friend of mine told me that the fork is quite strong but dont use it for jumps or any freeriding im now using a 2006 suntour xcr 120mm on my dirtjumper and im satisfied with its performance, just dont compare it to high end fork , at only p2500 its the best bang for the buck.

I'll go for the suntour. I have this XCP 95 Suntour with 100mm travel. So far so good. I think It's value for money.
I think if you are just beginning & in a very tight budget I'll recommend Suntour. Just know your limits ( i.e. don't expect it to perform like a high end fork)

get the suntour. we've been using it (xcp95) for more than 3 years (mostly trails and bike to work) and its still doing great. a tropa of mine (hans) was using it for dirt jumps and downhill (8-10 ft drops) before he upgraded into a marzocchi. just dont remove the fork boots!

i have the GTS (Alpha EL). i got it because it complements my GTS m5 frame. the push-button lockout is commendable, decent embossed GTS logo. looks pretty solid though i have only been using it for 3 months. cons, hmm, i don't have any experience with another fork to compare it to, so i can't comment on how it performs as a fork, all i can say is that it does soak bumps, and that the lockout works well.
although, i'm having problem with the spacing of the stanchions. putting the front tire is a squeeze, i have to pull apart the stanchions to make space for the hubs. so try out the fork first if you are planning to buy the GTS.
one of these days i'm going to determine how much my fork really travels. i understand that platform shocks have 'o-rings' that indicates the maximum travel of the shock, but my fork doesn't have an o-ring...

The suntour forks are pretty good value for money. My son had one on his first bike, and beat it up heavily for a couple of years, it took the abuse with no problem. If you get a good deal on one, I'd call it a good move for a budget trail bike.

i can't comment on the gts fork since i've never used one. i have an 04 suntour xcp fork which i've been using since well... 2004. it's very reliable and tough as well since i like doing jumps and wheelies a lot. a good all around fork which performs very well. last year i bought a 2006 xcr (the one with the lockout), sold it and returned to my xcp since the spring rate of the xcr was too soft for me. a bit of advise though, you need to maintain the grease under the fork boots or else it'll start to squeak. just be careful on removing the fork boots cause they tend to become brittle over time.
