i did the same thing last year on my worn out Shimano Pad, the problem is its Fades Drey ( the grip of the pads fades out or loses power ) as you continue to use it specially on your way down And you can Smell the burnt pads when youre really hard on these Rebonded Pads If only there is a Pad material that is same with the original in which you can replace the lining, then it will perform as good as the brandnew ones

i believe there's a thread about this. there's a search feature on the board. you may wana search under Tech Help. click "search" and type "rebond". maxbuwaya gave a very comprehensive review on his rebonded pads.
in any case, try Ferodo material. i had my racing clutch replaced with this material and it's quite good- doesnt heat up as easily as ordinary asbestos clutch/brake compound. its also used for brakes. go google....

by-the-way, a lot of riders will most likely advise you to just buy new sets of pads. i share the same sentiments. for one, shimano pads are cheap, unlike avid pads which costs about 750php (probably more, currently). shimanos i think would run at about 500- correct me if im wrong. and two, as radical would always argue: its much cheaper to get new pads than to have your face repaired after a spill when your rebonded brakes give way.

Actually the replacement for the MO8 resin pads for my shimano I got cost me only 350 at Cycle Art in quiapo. Nanghihinayang lang me kasi two sets na yung spares ko and I dont know what else to do with them.
thanks for the search tip kaya I couldn't find the topic using the search with "rebond" as the query/searh string. I'll keep looking.
Ferodo material where can I get those, at Redline ?

i know a lot of stuff gets re-used in the phils. recap yon tires for example... but brake pads? buy a new one! how much are u saving? time? is it worth it when those glued pads come right off and you're pointed down towards a big rock? from the numbers posted, pads there are so d@mn cheap i could get 5 for a set here.

Oh I saw the previous post already rebonded disc pads for Avid. One person even reported that someone used rebonded pads for an extreme downhill race competition. I'll check sa banawe when I have time. thanks again guys.
