hi guys, i was just thinking i used to live bmx style back in the late 80s' to the early 90s' then had some mtb time back when it was just all rigid now i am contemplating on getting back and having my share of pedal pounding full suspension way i ask all my friends for recommendation a friend who is a veteran in xc suggested the haro x7 considering my budget (70k++)is in the area and i used to do bmx ( lotsa drop and jumps) is it any good i plan to do freeriding with xc so it think its all mountain for me, to borrow the marketing term. any body here have any experience with the bike? any recommendation would be appreciated looking for freeride with at least 7'' travel that will alow me to keep up when the going gets vertical

The haro is a great all around bike. It has a proven suspension design similar to the Gemini and Bullit. It can be set-up light for AM riding or slap on a boxxer and its a DH race ready bike.
My friend just got one and he liked it.

A Giant Reign paired with a Marzocchi 6.6 or a Rock Shox Pike is also a good choice. Very sweet to be pedalled uphill but is one hell of a descender. Just add a little more to your 70k budget so you can install sturdy components as well. Happy hunting.

tnx for the reply its greatly appreciated nobody commented on the price of the x7 so it will proly fit the budget my only info on its price is from the bikeshop in moa the last x7 2006 that they sold went for 71k are there any similarly specced rigs in the same price area that would warrant my consideration? i'm worrying about the swingarm of the x7, it looks flimsy compared to others of similar design say like the h2 which or the giant's but it proly is just me for i havent ridden one yet more power to you guys hope i can join your runs when i get my steed

@ frustrated are you looking for a built bike ? or you might wanna build one ? How about if you check the buy and sell section you might find a good deal . Most bikes i've seen so far that are being sold around are still in mint condition people selling them are just sick from upgraditis every new model that pops out from bike manufacturers makes them sick , i myself is just recovering from that sickness .

hi guys, newbie here too. im using a 2006 haro x7 for freeriding here in davao. its a great bike. ive ridden a hardtail for urban assault and the x7 made my transition to fs very easy. the rear suspension is stiff when pedaling but opens up nicely on big hits. ive done jumps to flat and the frame just takes it. this is a great choice for all-around riding. im just wondering why the 2006 x7 was selling for 71k there in manila. i bought my bnew x7 for 58k here in davao. but i heard that stocks of the x7 ran out so you will have to wait for the 07's x7.

btw, the swing arm of the x7 is very stiff and is quite stout if you ever actualy seen one. that was also my concern when i ordered the x7 but when my bike arrived, its very burly. and my bike came with marzocchi drop off II 150mm thru axle, which is not whats pictured which is a manitou stance blunt 150mm. id say this is a very delightful "upgrade" since marz forks a tough and plush.

thanks for the info, i thought it was just me on the rear triangle hehe i see u have the same initial impression on the rear triangle, and i thought it was weird of me, whew i think now that the rear triangle is steel and not aluminum bcos, as you say, it is very rigid i also think that the blunt comes with the x6, the guys at the haro website are just too lazy to edit the specs so they just cut and pasted the specs of the LT wahehehe more power to you sir i'll be looking forward to my new x7

haro x7 is already good.actually 70k++ budget can offer you a lot.you might want to consider talking or consulting bike shops like all terra and power bikes for example..
