Hi!!! Would just like to know if any of you guys have tried this stuff? Saw it here in our LBS. NOS. It sells around 11.5k, discounted. Would just like to have your opinions if the price is reasonable, and if pads for these babies are still available, how much, and where? I've read the reviews from MTBR and they're good reviews, but still want to get opinions from you guys regarding pad availability and base price. It's the 4 piston mechanism that i'm after, are they really stronger than latest model XT's? Or Non-series'? If not, then i'd rather go for '08 XT or Non-series with bigger rotors.

I had the chance to use this 4-pot DB several years ago. These are my first hydraulic disk brakes, I used it with my Giant AC Team (now in good hands of Konan), my used to be all around bike. The one I had was a very powerful brakeset, with an on/off braking power and a not so good modulation feature or the total absence of it (i guess, this issue has been addressed with the next batches of M755's). I hope the one in your LBS is the one with better modulation version and if it is, you can't go wrong with it. I bought mine for 16K. As for the pads, there's still some replacement brand that you can get like a2z. Just keep your original shimano pad spring coz a2z springs are not that good.

Prime Bee, i dont know but it seems we have a contrasting view on the 4 pot XT i have it on my Stab with goodridge steel braided hose and its has better modulation control for me compared to my 08 XT 2pot servowaved stoppers that is slapped on my Bullit. Both system are 8 inchers but it seems the 08 has greater power than the oldskul ( sa experience ko lang ah mga broz ) Pads for the oldskul Xt are available daw ( as a fellah Biker there in Manila told me ) in your LBS there in Cartimar and in Quiapo. For 11.5 K Ogi, id wait for the Saint 09 na lang muna, 4 pot is back on its new break system

Prime Konan, I had the 1st generation of this M755's which has an on and off braking power, too powerfull on 6 inchers. Never had the chance to use it on 8 inchers though. It has been addressed on the next batches of units which has better modulation (i think you've got this one).

Thanks for the opinions guys. So I guess I'll just wait for the new Saint, or at least SLX, they look almost exactly like an '08 XTs. I just don't know if they're available here already, but I saw one eBay shop in Malaysia that sells SLX cranks, shifters, derailleurs, and cassettes.

Am sorry, it was an ebay shop in Thailand, not Malaysia.
