Kim whats the size of the headtube? 57.5mm? 44mm? since your referring to oversized headtube, Giant NRS have a 44mm headtube, Cannodale which uses Leftys and Headshok have 57.5mm. Common frames have 34mm Frame Cup Outside Diameter. Oversized headtubes enables you to use forks with larger than established 1 1/8" fork Steerer. For mor technical info, Click here

i bought it already, wala pang review kasi kinakabit ko pa ang mga parts from my old frame,
pero napansin ko lang is nakalagay sa frame is K2 then the model is BAYSIDE, googled it and comfort bike ang lumabas obviously dehins comfort bike frame itong nabili ko at im pretty sure freeride or XC frame ito.
my theory is siguro nagkamali sa factory sa print ng model label (brand/model is paint sprayed not sticker) kaya mura siguro.

ang alam ko dehins, kasi sobrang mura at yung bayside ay comfort bike nga sa k2. best to set it up for xc kasi steep ang angle at mahaba ang headtube. pag nilagyan mo ng 4in fork masyado na mataas. used this frame for 2 months on single tracks wid 2 ft jumps. ok naman sya.

i chose this K2 BAYSIDE frame over my previous choices (GT, KHS, specialized) based from the factors that bakalboy pointed out because it's lighter than most common frames, the angle is steep enough for my preference considering my body frame at 5'11, 170 pounder, and a long oversized headtube. yeah it doesn't include seatpost though, but got it at P1650 only at king's bikes, which i think is reasonable enough. i had the black one aiming to pair it with a black suntour fork to match the color of the bike to have it's own character.
i do believe the K2 bayside's a good choice (i hope) when budget is an obstacle and basically good for a beginner like me ;D

that is a good frame. it weighs just 350 grams more than a Giant Team XTC. It might be a generic Taiwanese frame, painted and decalled with K2 stickers. K2 catalogs feature the BAYSIDE as a comfort bike. The "generic" K2's almost look similar to slalom frames.

i don't know if i'm worthy enough to make a review coz i'm still a newbie (been biking though but that was eons ago), but for the benefit of the people who eyes this frame and since i got one for myself, here are my feedbacks.
the K2 Bayside, 1st and foremost, is definitely lighter than its counterparts (350 grams as per ygolote), and indeed the "bayside" series in K2's website confirms it's indeed a comfort frame, but this doesn't look like the one in the K2 site, it looks more of a dual slalom frame, nice decals (not stickered), long, oversized headtube, steep angle, and good, sturdy enough. and unlike rumors that it has problems with geometry because of poorly orchestrated craftsmanship, i had no problems setting up mine. just check first the geomerty if ever you'll get one of these.
as for the ride, i mainly am an urban rider, and i felt the lightness the K2 brings, been jumping on 2-3 foot gutters and had her on quite high ascends, it does perform well. although i haven't tried it on trails for xc, i do believe this frame can hold it's own.
bottomline? for just a retail price of just P1600-1650 (quiapo LBS, does not include seatpost and headset) and when you're in a tight budget (like me ;D) and ur looking for an xc trail worthy frame that's light enough and cheap, the K2 Bayside frame deserves a look.
2 centavos ;D
