i saw somebody at cyclemart yesterday who has the PinoyMTBiker stiker on his helmet nagpakilala ako and sya pala si fattire tapos andoon din si max pinakilala sa akin ni fattire. bumili ako ng fork na marzzochi exr pro air suspension worth P6800. could you please tell me some pros and cons with this fork Yo bikehead! Maganda ang review sa EXR pro air generally. And i've observed madami na rin ang gumagamit nyan. Pero ang dami kasi variants ng EXR model eh. Ang alam ko isa yan sa medyo low-end (unlike say the EXR supra or EXR pro coil) It's not built for free-ride. Mas marathon at aggressive xc lang dapat (daw) pero alam mo naman tayo dito, matigas pa rin ulo karamihan.

@bikehead: for the price/performance ratio, you'll get what you pay for, which is a mid-level trail-worthy front suspension fork able to sail you through moderate rain ruts and i would even say intermmediate sections in feather brake mode with the full confidence that you will not endo or loose control - of course half of it is skill but that's another story.
the basis of my claim is that i previously had an sr suntour xcp95 (a good fork for the price) w/ only 3" and i knew where i'd shake some control when i descend on bumpy sections and therefore risk endo. the additional travel you'll get spells stable and vertical riding as opposed to shaky going to crash fiasco. it comes with the territory but you don't want that a lot.
you got the 130mm (4.8 inches) version same as mine. yung dagdag na 30mm pampatapang yan pag bumaba ka sa lubak.
the proprietor of extreme bike shop in qc gave good comments about the fork and i suggest you talk to him because he adviced me to get the right psi's. the formula is already somewhere here in the board but you'll probably have other questions about sag, maintenance, etc. mabait yung may ari ng extreme and very knowledgeable, dehins lang tanong mo sasagutin kundi pati ibang bagay na mahalaga; he'll basically tell you you got good fork on your bike kasi sabi nya sa marzocchi ang hinangaan nya yung mga unang labas (yung mga champagne ang kulay, model 2000 yata), DJ3, at yung mga labas ngayon na 1 piece lang yung ibaba. he doesn't mind that they were made in taiwan (his exact words were: "pina-subcon lang naman nila")kasi nung nagbukas daw sila ng isa ang fork of current models, ang tibay daw ng mga parts.
wala pa 1 month yung nakuha ko fork pero eto observation ko:
pros: plush. sucks up the big hits.
cons: for an air fork, mabigat, halos kasing bigat ng xcp95. the sag! dive ka sa biglang preno, ang dami nauubos na effort pag out of saddle ka.
overall: pros outweighs the cons bec. i'm not a weight weenie and i can somewhat adjust my ride style to deal with the sag (but not totally) and like i said at the start, i got what i paid for! enjoy your fork!

i am torn between a manitou black elite rtwd or a rock shox psylo sl for my ride- i do agressive trailriding and i'm about 180lbs... anybody have any suggestions? other fork options? my current fork is an exr pro coil but i'm finding it a bit soft and i'm looking for something stiffer and beefier than the exr. thanks!

BTW, those 2 forks are good also. will go with warlock on that! the spring/air combination is an interesting mix ....and the ETA is really useful, esp on climbs and pavement. just wish they had more color choices...if an 04 silver comes in, will consider changing my current black one hehehe p.s. greatwhite, kailan mo ba i-post yung pix ng bagong bike mo? ganda sya ah, nakita ko sa powerbikes when you had it assembled

i guess i also changed the geometry of the bike when i put in a thud buster seatpost and put in my headset from my old ride (its a raceface real seal) so the frame went from xc-race to xc-trailbike thats a semi-fs. actually i'm in sort of a dillema... give me your opinion guys... up to until two days ago i was pretty much set on getting a manitou black 100-120mm rtwd BUT i found an '03 sherman firefly that goes from 100-130mm rtwd ON SALE that has a price tag almost similar to the '04-'05 manitou black! weight is about the same (not much of a weight guy anyway...but she gotta look good ). i'm just worried the fork might be a little too much (but it is fully adjustable tough may lockout pa...) ;D p.s. if you we're just wondering the '03 sherman is BRAND NEW help bros!!!

Its too much for that frame...I know Sherman is nicer, but you have a XC frame....setup your bike right so you can make the most of its potential. XTC are normally fitted with Sid forks...which varies from 80~100mm at most. Fitting it with Black will already raise the c o c kpit a little making steering feeling slow. Try imagine having the Sherman Set the bike like its designed to do... and that will make you enjoy riding it also. If you want a major bling on it..get a Fox Forx or Zoke Marathon ;D
