My son, 220 lbs is very happy with his Avids specially after he upgraded to 8 inch rotors..Its easy to adjust and it stops better than some hydraulic disc brakes he said..
Ako naman, I use Hayes comps with 8 inch rotors also and they work great kaya lang medyo time consuming and pag-align lalo na pag dehins pantay and kabitan sa fork at sa likuran..I've also experienced a rotor na bingkung..sumasayad sa ibang parte pag ikot..Pag-grabe ang sayad, dapat nang palitan..Nakakainis gamitin sometime lalu na pag paahon..

8 inch rotor, talagang malalakas ang brake nyan, it is intentionally for DH na talaga e, sa XC 6 lang yata ang STD, Avid and Hayes are really good stuff, medyo "abnormal" lang ang price nya he he he. ;D

t.y.

Just some input here.
A couple of months ago I emailed Avid customer support asking for replacement seals for my ball bearing brakes. I was expecting to pay for the parts plus shipping, but they just sent the parts plus some cool stickers free of charge!
Try doing the same with Shimano!

Guli - Did you use this model before your Avids? Any comment from my idol?

fullspeed
GO TRUVATIV!!!!!

Thank you guys for all your suggestions, replaced the pads and now its working fine!
Pero now ok na, and for that i give it five flamin chilis ;D

Bernie, i used to put "sahing" on the rims of my BMX...pag ipit ng preno instant Endo ka rin...mas makapit nga..dati sa mga LBS meron nito..its inside a small plastic bag the size of an ajinomoto sachet....ngayun I dont know if they still carry them around. - I have a query din mga brothers, im going avids in the next few days....please tell me...do i really need 8" rotors? tama ba - "there's no such thing as too much stopping power" ?....thanks

Why add more weight to the bike.

Any comment from my idol? i'm using m475 also for more than a year na.... may mga commenst akong nabasa na mahina raw ang preno, it's all in the adjustments lang yan, and konting tweaks sa rotors like papasakan mo ng straw ng softdrinks and some rugby he he he he.. ganyan talaga pag wala kang perang pambili ng mamahalin disc brakes... kaya mga naka m475 dyan wag kayong malungkot pero kung gusto nyo talagang magpalit wala na akong magagawa... peace tayo..
