hello everyone! I'm thinking of building up an ss commuter/beater bike for cheap. By cheap, <10k. I've looked at the other projects but they look more like mtn bikes, im looking for something different this time The online references for this idea would be the kona paddywagon and raleigh one way among others (fenders optional). my question would be: can i find a steel frame similar to those bikes in manila that can fit my 6'0 body? (no time to canvass different shops) thanks!

But that s exactly what you should do...walk around the older bikeshops of cartimar and quiapo for that large size steel frame. The jackpot frame might even be cheaper than you thought dont limit yourself with sightings from our forum members having said that (ala Simon heheh), use the search button for "steel frame" at the buy and sell section

look around the bike warehouse in Yuseco (near SM San Lazaro right across the Cecilio Apostol Elementary School) there are nice deals there.
