Last Sunday Calong Ascuna from Asuncion Davao Del Norte (near Tagum City )had crashed during a club fun DH ride at Eden Davao City . Calong riding with fellow visiting riders from Tagum and Davao City (18 riders)overshot a concrete road leading to a single track at high speed and struck a coconut tree. He suffered massive head injuries and was rescued by Davao's 911 ambulance. He's now in coma on a respirator at the Davao Medical Center and conditions are not looking good. His helmet a MOB XC helmet was shattered at the back portion .
Please join us in our prayers for his recovery.
Calong is 26 years old , Married and with one child.
We are doing a fund raising campaign here in Davao and in Tagum to help the family of Calong. Any help would be appreciated by the family

Happy to know eventhough you guys havent met Calong but we are all one in fun and during trying times like this in showing support to our fellow Mountainbiker. An update this morning from Calong's Family - he is now showing signs of improvement, awake but could not yet talk, few body movements. He was transfered to the Ward last night from the ICU. Prayers for you dude! I'm Sure Babawian mo yan! Rock on Dude! Don't let that coconut tree make you gulay! Coconut Lumber anyone? (Don't worry, DENR will understand!) history: i remember another DH brad Redentor, now in dubai, he was riding fast down ridge 3 but the coconut tree did not move out of the way, and he hit it! ayun hilo sila pareho nung coconut! he just suffered: death going to unconsiousness (kala nila tigok n), pagbula ng bibig, temporary amnesia. after a few months, while he was in vacation in Bicol, he just pass by an overpass and decided to try a stairs gap! but unfortunately he did it face first! he suffered A lot of stitches in his face, death going to unconsiousness (buhay pa rin), temporary amnesia, and umaatikabong sermon from his mom and wife (he was to buy something lang pala sa tindahan!), plus a segment in TV Patrol Bicol. As far as i know Death casualty in DH is not yet taking toll, unless you'll have a heart attack! Death can't chase us since he's scared chasing you Downhill! harharhar! recover fast and ride again brad! don't let that thing stop you! |
