hi gphidalgo. Basically anything will do if you ask if it can do for urban riding. As you get more specific to which urban discipline you want you will need to be more specific on parts too. Most of us who ride urban here don't have a common setup. For example me, I ride an alu frame, SS, rigid fork and run a very thick tire. Chi on the otherhand ride a suspension fork on a cromoly frame, more heavy duty than I have. Join us sometime too to have 1. fun, 2. talk about parts hehe. I would just advice you to replace your parts as you see yourself outgrow them. ;D edit: Just saw what your bike is.. (is this it: www.mtbr.com/reviews/Bike_full/product_19085.shtml ?) May I suggest get a hardtail for urban, usually if you ride a full suspension or DH rig for urban, you stop playing when the rest of us start playing hehe.

here's my street set up it doesn't matter if it's geared or ss.... it realy depends on your prefernce. some riders ride street on gears (chase, Lenosky) some ride on ss (rhe D... hehehe) but usually, street set up requires slick tires or semi slick. to better grip the pave road. like pat said, any bike will do. but if you want a bike that you can play with on the street, atleast look for a frame that will fit you perfectly. put on slick tires, shorter stem, jump saddle, chain guide if your running geared, doesn't matter if your on disk or vee's as long as you confortable with your bike.

yeah any bike will do, but if you'll be more specific on what type of riding you want to be, we'll put some inputs on what's good and what's not
Join some rides to meet other riders lurking around the metro

Sir D What type of chain would you reccommend for a SS Urban bike setup? Would an 8 speed IG be enough or should it be a SS specific chain?

8 speed chain will work just fine. it would fit perfectly on ss kits. most BMX chain like i'm using will not work on singulators. however, if your not running a singulator, a BMX chain is preferabe. it's tougher than IG's.

scrap bikes are 24 specific bikes, much like the one above. they sell them 7.5 but with american size BB, the euros are sold out.
