anyone? i'm not familiar with the street names or the tunnel connecting C-5 to Katipunan.
I have 2 candidate routes
1) Via C-5, Katipunan, Xaviervile ave, chico, anonas, sikatuna
2) C-5, boni serrano, j.p. rizal, aurora blvd, anonas, sikatuna.
better/safer routes are most welcome.
Thanks in advance.

i would recommend route 1 since in this route you are passsing by secondary roads (after katipunan ave., i.e. xavierville, chico, anonas, sikatuna), which means less vehicular traffic and safer route. good luck and safe riding

ayos, thanks for the inputs i just might take route 1 unless there are other suggestions. i'm just not familiar how C-5 connects to Katipunan. I saw a tunnel before but I don't know if bikes are safe to pass through. I'm thinking of passing via white plains, i've used that route before

stay away from the tunnel!!! it aint safe for biking. best is to take the upper road which leads you to Santolan rd cor. Katipunan. Take the street that'll take you to Calderon St. Proj 4 and just go straight cross Aurora Blvd. You'll see a small street (Dapdap ) take it then take a left to Narra Rd. From Narra just go straight till you hit Chico St. and you'll see bike lanes (right direction) to Xavierville...voila Katipunan!!! That's the safest route for me...coz there are no vehicles running 60 - 80 kph in that road Hope I didnt confuse you. erratum: after Dapdap take the right turn not left as earlier mentioned.

Sir judex, ha ha ha i just might go your place on of these weekends i'd be coming from mandaluyong so the easiest route i see would be through C-5

I will recommend an alternative route. If you are coming from Mandaluyong - the quickest route might not be through C5 but through:
A. Martinez / 9 de Pebrero (mandaluyong city hall) > Shaw Blvd > A. Mabini (or any of the streets going up Addition Hills that lead to A. Mabini) > Wilson > P. Guevarra or J. Abad Santos > Pinaglabanan > N Domingo > Hemady > E. Rodriquez > T. Morato > Kamuning road > Kamias road > Sikatuna.
This is not straightforward but only a very short portion of the trip is spent on major roads with high vehicle traffic, so less traffic hassle and less smoke. This is the route I take from Makati to QC and it is a very quick and efficient route.

anthrax76: I think you'll like this route especially the uphills in Addition Hills and Little Baguio. I too sometimes get lost in there when I become too adventurous and try streets that are still unfamiliar but hey, that's all part of the fun hehehe ;D

(tamad eh no!) drive safe guys... there is no way sir. if you take greenmeadows>corinthians>whiteplains there is a long uphill also, try this libis flyover to katipunan but don't enter the tunnel take the side road going to camp aguinaldo. just be careful in changing lanes.. . but i think you can manage the uphill below the flyover (st.ignacius gate)
