no problem... that's why as you can see, my shots were a bit blurry because my tripod is busted. Anyway, slow shutter, high aperture, lightning.

Or if there are no other sources of light nearby (houses, lamp posts, etc) you could keep the aperture open (holding the shutter while at the "B" setting) and wait for the lightning to strike. I captured a lightning this way while at the campsite of Mt.Maculot. I'll try to find and scan the pic.

HANCE, if there are no other sources of light, my cam won't focus and the shutter would refuse to go. aaarrrghh, the curse of a point and shoot.

Yup Ma'am Whoopi, the curse of the point-and-shoot. ;D BTW, I have yet to see a point-and-shoot cam with a "B"-setting.
Does yours have one po?

@ma'am whoopi - if i may butt-in, i think the "B" setting sir hance refers to is a variable exposure mode usually available on SLRs... this leaves the film exposed until you let go of the shutter (like that sir hance says)... i wonder if DSLRs have them... haven't tinkered with mine yet. am i correct sir hance? hehe

Tama sir. DSLRs also have that feature, Im not that sure though if standard din sa kanya like it was with SLRs. I captured a lightning this way while at the campsite of Mt.Maculot. I'll try to find and scan the pic. I've found the pic but the quality is a bit crappy pala kasi medyo matagal na. I'll try to digitally clean up the pic prior to posting it here ;D.
