but maragondon side is full of fences =p if the bike can fit in the fences it's okay. oh yeah the initial ascent from jump off from maragondon is quite steep, pushing the bike is the only option

Hmmmm been a mountaineer for the past 10 years na rin but just like the other mountaineers shift to biking my last climb was in the border of oman and UAE. Now into biking na lang but still want to climb maybe not this time have to energized muna and jayms, tolit and freeman if your going to power up pasig just let me know so that i could have a buddy in wall climbing again need to use my gears again im only in bagong ilog everyday i can pedal up to power up para extra exercise na rin before enduro. Just text me 09157969157 thanks.
And bout dale??hmmmm i heared so much of him but i dont want to judge him it his own choice and if he ever summited everest first well..his only fooling his self if his lying. He lacked on alpine training though the pix on summit what a big question? summit of everest is small so other climbers might be in the background but havent found anyone. And also heared some stories bout the phil. everest team. First the sec said that we have to accept that their was a race between the phil team and garduce but later on after the successful climb he again said to the press that their was not a race between the phil team and garduce..hahahaha what a big lie. showbiz.. I salute all of them but i do like garduce coz i sticked on his word that we will not race with the two climber. But still salute for the filipino mountaineer!!!

hahaha i think FMEE is not short of budget for the everest summit this year they will have two teams who'll climbing the north and south face of everest. I heared that some of the team members went to US to make sulisit. hehe Heared also that they will race against Malaysian climber who'll also attempting to climb the summit this summer and will be having the title of the first asean woman to summit everest. Good luck with them hope they will have no casualties.

been trying to surf the phileverest team website (www.philippine-everest.com) but can't find any tsismis regarding that one... for me... most probably.... that would be politics... cause ever since it is formed... politics is abound it. No wonder it is still there.. My only question now (if its true that he leave the FPMEE) is why left all of a sudden when the major goal of the team is very near na. he left them hanging...

am no mountaineer but i think its another classic case of ningas kugon...just not sure if it lies on the part of sponsors etc...it just lost steam because the main goal of putting the first pinoys at the summit of everest has been achieved...the unity climb may just became just another event on their view.

What I heard he left because the Unity Climb was axed because of lack of funds, guess Art saw where those funds went.

never heared about mr. valdez, saw him last year in a short talk in globe telecom with some of the everest team. Nevere mention any thing about quiting on the team. As far as i know they were still trying to sulisit for funds of the 10 climbers, they even sell posters of everest after the talk. Mr. Valdez always protecting the team that they had no race between the Garduce and FPMEE but the former pres of MFPI Mr. Sebastian said lets face it their was a race between the two group. Now whos telling the truth??

welll if its funds... for sure mahihirapan na talaga sila to solicit for it, coz the main goal of putting the first pinoy to the rooftop of the world has been achieved, no more sense for companies to sponsor their goal this year, since the main objective has been achieved... sa cho oyu pa lang for sure they already spent all their funds..

know what.... the two ladies didn't get to the top of cho oyu.... a couple of hundred meters short... other members of the team were disgusted daw... now a tv station is hailing that they have 'summitted'... the proper term should be 'attempted'...

What I heard he left because the Unity Climb was axed because of lack of funds, guess Art saw where those funds went. since the funds were low, art was for just the two women to summit the everest and no more of the other members of the team...the team didnt like the idea (who would?)...then problem started...art probably made the right descision based on the available resources...cant blame the man.

anybody here knows the real deal why mr. art valdez of the fpmee quit his position as the team/expedition leader of the group? I heard from the grapevine that Art quit FPMEE because he wanted an all-girls climb to mount everest in the future, which did not sit well with the other members of the team. Of course, all members of the FPMEE want to climb Everest since they invested their lives on it and some have even quit work just to be part of FPMEE. OTOH, some say Art quit because he could not account for the funds of FPMEE. No one from FPMEE would go on record to confirm this though.

Base on their press release in globe last year they said that the team will be divided in to two one will summit using the south col and the other team will use the north col and will meet at the summit. And said to race against malaysian climber, now its a suicidal attempt. Jamz is correct Romy can never be in FPMEE coz he can climb without them and they invite Garduce before to join them but garduce refuse thats why they send oracion and emata last year to summit everest which is supposedly the attemp will be this year. MR. Art try to cover everything in the team but everybody knows that its a race within the two. They were trying to kill the mountaineers because of their personal interest.

Rats, just for some publicity, people are putting other people's lives in danger.
As for the 2006 summits? it just sucks that although the climber's did well and good, at the back of everybody's mind, it will always be a race.

Another Chikka for all of you.... Discovery video backs Abenojar conquestThe Philippine Star 02/19/2007 Filipino adventurer Dale Abenojar said documentary producer Discovery Channel has a 30-minute video footage of him and other mountaineers on Mt. Everest on May 15 last year, or days ahead of the two other Filipino climbers who were officially acknowledged as the first Filipinos at the summit of the world’s highest mountain. Abenojar, in an interview with The STAR yesterday, said that Discovery Channel – through its Footage Source director Margaret Majorack – confirmed to ABC 5 the existence of the "footage in the course of the local network’s research for its documentary on Abenojar’s Mt. Everest exploits, "Child in Everest." Abenojar and ABC 5 signed a co-production agreement last year for the documentary, which telecasts in March or April this year. He said the release of the Discovery Channel footage would bolster his claim that he was the first Filipino at the peak of Mt. Everest and not Erwin "Pastor’’ Emata and Leo Oracion.
