Imagine, a parking structure for bicycles! Yes friends, not automobiles, but our beloved bicycles. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. And my other fave place aside from the Van Gogh Museum was....the Heineken factory! ;D Ride on!

wow man this is so friggin cool. i love the Dutch. thanks for sharing this schwinng. Hey brad, you see people in business suits with kids in tow. I guess its bicycle friendly because of the way that city is set up, with narrow roads and everything, but if you like hills, forget it, Amsterdam is as flat as an ironing board. But then again, the Dutch do love their bicycles!

If all those bicycles were cars, just imagine how big that parking building would be. Thanks for sharing your "bicycle world"

how i wish that kind of mentality exist here in the Philippines. sadly Pinoys are too in love with their cars and motorcycles. how awesome it would be to commute to anywhere in the metro you want with your bike without fearing of being run over by a motorist. hay... i guess i'll just have to add Amsterdam to my list of places i wish to live in.

This number of bikes in Amsterdam is maybe only less than 1% of bikes in China... ;D ;D Good things here in China, the bike lane is 5 meters wide with the shade of Trees... that's why, many people still go biking going to the office. In the Phil, government need to put a better bike lanes to encourage people to ride the bikes...

But the number of cyclists in China might drop significantly as they are finally transitioning to automobiles ;D (unfortunately, but finally). We need to find a better and greener way to commute to counter this enormous addition of motorists.

But the number of cyclists in China might drop significantly as they are finally transitioning to automobiles ;D (unfortunately, but finally). We need to find a better and greener way to commute to counter this enormous addition of motorists. Based on the statistics in China. Everyday, this is the number of cars released, by average of Dongguan > 500, 1000 in Chengdu and Beijing, > 1000 in shanghai...etc...etc... Based on the sale of bikes... more than a hundred thousand a year in every city... buyer is mostly students and workers... Bike is the best solution for environment friendly transportation... of course, excempt the horse and carabao in the city... ;D But our government can not seen this scenario. If all the City mayor can follow the foot steps of Marikina City. Biking will be more willing to everyone... How many Mayor give speeches in the Tour of the Fireflies every year But did we see any changes in the road we ride our bikes... I can not feel any changes...

Guandong Province, Shanghai, Beijing, and Futian...etc..etc... all the cities near the fort with high living standard... number of bikers is already declining, But this are only 10 percent of the entire population of China... if we consider Western, Middle and northern part... biking is still number one transportation for them...
