here's some of the things we did last sunday. typical ride at licao. at typical meal at likaw. and then in the evening we decided to down 2 bottles of matador and thought about doing this in the afternoon: head to makulot and spend new year's eve there, hehehe ;D here's me at the grotto in makulot. its 9pm 12-31-2007 at this point. here's paul freeman with the usual new year pleasantries, hehehe ;D they say you've never climbed makulot if you've never done it from the grotto side. that's me doing the ropes, hehehe ;D. its a bit foggy that's why it kinda looks as if the pictures have smoke. just setup our tent at 11:30pm dec 31, 2008. took us 2.5 hrs to get to the campsite in macatmon. its pitch black and there's this other guy who climbed alone, hehehe ;D. here's paul starting things with a bang. the next morning we head on 2 the rockies. woke up 930am after downing a bottle of generoso, hehe. the rockies in makulot overlooks the taal lake. just got down from makulot. the street marker near ka manuel's. unfortunately, some of the pics got destroyed in the memory card which i eventually formatted. and those that got destroyed were the better looking pics. kainis. thanks for looking. happy new year PinoyMTBiker.

Ultimate na ito.
While most of us endured noise, smoke, fireworks of city new year's eve revelry, you spent yours on peace and solitude of the topmost where we all strive to be.
I define what you did as "style', 'class', 'extreme mountaineering at its finest Pinoy best'.
Happy New Year PinoyMTBiker.

nice pics! for sure some roads goin to maculot are cemented already, back in 04 I was able to bring my bike up to the portion of what we called" pinag-bigtian" (where a fellow mountaineer hanged himself in a mango tree back in 91) now I think theres a vendor selling buko juice in that area. my sister in law is from Cuenca, their house is beside the San Isidro Church, Thanks Sir! for sharing the pics

Jesus! you're lucky to get out alive! that guy has a history of pushing people. nyahaha. ;D you said it. we almost lost our tent due to the fierce winds. i went out to take a pea. a minute or 2 paul followed but he didnt close the zipper on the flysheet of the tent. the wind was able to get inside the tent and it collapsed and the tent poles at the middle of the tent broke in half at the apex. so we had to move to a place which has better windbreaking features and had to do some repairs on the tent poles. we slept at 5am. grrrr.......... happy new year! hehehe ;D banny, it was paul's idea. but it was a good one, hehe.

It's on the planning board brad'... and you're invited hehehe ;D didn't notice the mosquito's up there, we were greeted by very cold and strong winds at the grotto, I think they can't tolerate cold weather ;D thanks for viewing our (mis) adventures guys
