Some narration here...trance03.
Pictures wandie1024 shared with us were taken while riding his bike. So there were very close calls if whether wandie1024 will be able to retain his bike balance or not, as I saw him often weaving left to right and left of vehicular traffic, in his attempt to give us realistic PinoyMTBiker shots as possible. Everybody naman who has ridden with wandie1024 knows how he rides. He has a reputation for making everybody's heart skip a beat whenever he deviates from our 'normal' riding norm. Last thing we would task him to do is to bike using only his right hand, while taking our pictures on his left hand, in the middle of speedy Diosdado Macapagal Blvd traffic.
Just to prove how virginally wild and unexplored Dr. AlbertM's trail we made butas at Marina Bayhomes, Enzo's rear drop snapped. To realize how his bike survived several lufet trail rides he joined the likes of Bataan's Killer Loop and Kandila... etc etc. Only to meet its waterloo at Dr AlbertM's Bayhome butas explo.
By the time we reached Lan Zou La Mien at San Fernando St, Binondo, we were all famished, and weak to the bone. More so Tibbar. He couldn't bike anymore and had to push his Kona Caldera last 50 meters before reaching Lan Zou, his knees literally buckling et al and his sides cramping.
But lo and behold. Moment each of us had first few sips of steaming La Mien broth, instant energy was restored!

Back on the saddle again huh Sir Rocky?! Great! What a way to end the year and start a new year. Man, the egg noodle soup looks delicious, that's what I miss most about the Philippines--delicious food. Ride on PinoyMTBikers and glad to see you're back riding again Sir Rocky! Happy New Year to all!

I hope this event will be repeated and its so happy to see PapaRocks firing again! DocAlbert mentioned to me in passing that abandoned foundation which looked like a swimming pool where we had our group picture taken is the burial ground of several construction workers ala Manila Film Center where workers were buried alive. It is also the dumping ground of salvaged dope addicts. I could swear some of us heard an added reply which didn't sound like the expected echo bouncing back off Wandie's cries of ... Wandie = "Hoy" Echo = "Hoy..hoy" Wandie = "Who goes there?" Echo = "Who Goes There...who goes there?" Wandie = "Shut up!" Echo = "Shut the F**k Up!...shut the fu** up!"

now that you have mentioned creepy, i realized yeah to think i noticed dr. albertM already near observing, i first saw a guard on a motorcycle followed but returned to his post when he saw us posing for pictures. when i followed the returning guard with my eyes it was then i saw dr. albert M standing there with his cannondale, i thought hes with the group tho it was only then when i noticed him. i thought its kinda odd that he was wearing topsiders. well anyway at least we have a name to drop whenever pmtbers would want to explore that trail again.... or do we???... is dr albertM really real? or.... just a product of our collective imagination? our collective wish to go on a trail that we caused someone to exists in our midst so we can justify going into and discovering the other side of that grassy lot? is it a coincidence that the person is a doctor or it is how collectively we would want him to be? a doctor to cure our disease to explore? and what does M in his name stands for? is it for Mystery? ..... tininining tininining.. (twilight zone background) he he he just kidding.... pro malay nyo totoo.. tininining tininining

Tondo guys I have a question...Where The F**k (WTF) is Dr. Albert's Trail in the CCP complex??? Nice to see you guys had fun...sorry was not able to join you that Sunday. Ok brad, that Flagpole-MOA-Lamien ride took a different turn when I first thought that we will have a phase stop at PinoyMTBiker's former hang out at the "powerplant" corner of MOA leftmost side if ur facing the Manila bay, instead we go on pedalling again towards D. Macapagal Blvd. till we reach its far end. We turn right towards a subdivision named if I could remember is Marina Baytown Subd. That time the guard didn't mind us at all maybe because of our handsome looks hehehe and so few meters more of pedalling we took a left turn at that time you must now be seing part of the coastal bay waters we reached that far end and as u can see in the photo opt at the background is a kind of trail like road leading to nowhwere. This was the time when Dr. Albert M. approached us telling that he's a lonely biker in that community and Glad to see us. He then told us of that trail. Lancetyrone and Sir Enzo lead the group together with Dr.A. Very grassy and spooky indeed by way Dr.A is telling us of that site. Specially the swimming pool-like area. From that the trail ends as sir Enzo assessment "virgin grass" I guess taller than Wandie. Some photo opt and echo-playing then we hop on our bikes went reverse to the same place we started then we Dr. Albert took us to the other side of that trail. Upon entering you will be wlecomed by some "friendly dogs" -"Just throw some stones" as Dr. Albert said and voila u will now be in an area like the Manggahan Sta. Rosa Trail and upon reaching its far end Sir Enzo's dropout broke (as u can see in the pics) From that point you will be near the wired fence beyond it is the other side of the Manila Bay this is where the opposite trail ends. So to link this trail together is a great challenge but of course as FAfaRocky said time will come "Bubutasin ng PMTBer's yang grassy trail" (trans. "soon PMTBer's will surely clear and link that trail) and so on we continue the journey to Binondo towards Lamien. But my visa expired so just have to take on the commercial noodles at home hehehe

"Tinining." "Tinining."
I guess this yearender Mystery bordering on Twilight Zone and One Step Beyond will never be resolved until after DocAlbert joins our forum?
Abangan.
Until after that happens, gives me the creeps wondering if DocAlbert was really PinoyMTBiker's version of a friendly ghost?
But when I clasped DocAlbert's right hand and raised it for group picture taking, it felt very warm naman...like that of a true compassionate, caring doctor who heals mankind.

@meg: well said brad.
doc albert was making loops near the coastal waters when we passed by. he passed by twice and on the third pass he stopped and introduced himself as one of the locals in the area. he and papa rocky had a chit-chat and doc albert said that there are trails in the area but he haven't explored it yet. i said i know the trail coz hyperion brought us their. me, wandie and nards have been there before. but i didn't know that there is another trail leading to the old abandoned building foundation that looks like a pool. we only knew of the trail when doc albert told us. so what we did is we butas the trail. it was a single track mud, watery trail. the grass was as tall, sharp and itchy. the place was spooky. there are two tracks at the pool site. one on the left and one on the right. i dont know where it leads. we are about to make butas the trail when papa enzo said that its not possible coz grass and vines had grown over the track. it could help if we had bolos with us but we dont so we made reverse and explored another route at the back of doc alberts house. thats were papa enzo's dropout snapped. after that that we went back to d. macapagal ave-ccp complex-baywalk-binondo. in binondo we had our treat of noodles. after having the treat, me, papa rock, tibbar, nards and wandie went back to ccp complex. on our way back it rained and we were riding in the rain. its good coz we had a free bike wash. hehehe....

Hey sayang I missed that creepy trail maybe we should go back there and propose to Dr. Albert that we will so some landscaping, maybe redesign that swamp, a little trim and some make over, maybe it can be a good trail and ofcourse it helps the marina community also if we clean up the place it wont be an area where you dump dead dudes. Anyway, I wasnt there , might take years to improve the area, but I guess now that Dr. Albert has new found friends, and im sure the next time we venture to his turf again, he will welcome us with a big smile, we might as well return the favor by letting him join us whenever we are in the area or let him lead some of our PinoyMTBiker brothers who wants to experience an urban swamp trail. :-)

A different ride to end the year!!! Dont want to miss the chance to ride alongside PinoyMTBiker Idol Papa Rocky and the NoodleTown boys.
Despite my busy days, bonding time with family, late nights attending to my sick children, continuous trip to relatives here and in Pangasinan, I woke up really early with no thoughts of doing this ride, even the night before.
But the chance to ride with our Idol Rocky and the noodletown boys was just too much to let pass so I suit up despite having a couple of sleep only. Went racing towards noodletown and found La Mien noodle house. too early at 7 to be there and proceeded to MOA. I said to myself that it wont be hard to find the guys since all I need to do is look for cyclist. Aaah! big mistake, there were hundred of cyclist and zeroing onto the group gave me a good neck workout, looking left and right constantly to be exact. Luckily, two gentlemen offered to lead me to the other guys ahead. Veeduber and Technic led me to the end of the reclaimed land of Manila de Bay. Twas fun riding with everybody and the enthusiasm was so contagious I can hardly stop myself from going further into the virgin trails. Intertwined grass and twigs halt our march and we called it off. Next was to follow Dr. Albert's lead behind his backyard and I breaking my dropout. My second one, the first was in 1994 in Teresa.
A ride of a records ;D ;D Breaking dropout, going singlespeed, not carrying my 10 kg bag, riding without water and breakfast, and not finishing the ride due to mechanical problem.
Thanks to everyone!!!

lancetyrone is right the grass(talahib) are tall and sharp, proof of which is i still itch from scratches from them as i played the role of the lawnmower man, careening from left to right bending grasses as i go along uncontrollably he he to those who were following me then you can now stop wondering why the road was wider wiith bended grasses on the sides, nothing creepy there really, it was me he he he. i fell once, when i did i immediately looked from left to right and immediately picked up my bike when i saw no ones there as witness he he but i forgot to wipe the dirt off my left arm which lancetyrone noticed and pointed out later on, he he there goes the evidence. i was really feeling the pedalling became heavier on my way out of there as if something is pulling me preventing me from going out as if some mysterious force was holding on to me that out of fright i spent so much energy cranking and mumbling all the prayers to all the saints i remember so i can get out of there... it was so spooky until i reached the paved road... there i discovered the the heaviness was caused by grasses entangled on my wheels and clinging to the bike, the grasses were dense that when i got out to the paved road my bike and i were covered like a camoed sniper from the movie of tom berenger. ;D ;D i had to dismount to pull out grasses hauled by my bike.
