Biimbostik (Bimbo) invited me to do ocular of Sierra Madre Hotel, since both of us saw pictures of it posted in fun eb,we decided to check the place out,but not the usual itenerary of starting in Burger King Marcos Highway and pedalling all the way up. We decided to bring bimbo's van, brought the bike's aswell, although we dont have any idea where it is exactly, luckily along Marcos Highway we saw couple of riders and ask for directions, they were kind enough to point the right direction forget to ask if they are members also of pinoyMTBiker thank you Sir! well here's some pics Long and Winding Road Nice View On The Saddle Welcome! Mang Vic's Bulalo Biimbostik ( Bimbo) Sheose (Osep) Biimbostik & Sheose Rest Stop at Sierra Madre Hotel after the uphill push Enjoying some refreshment We enjoyed the Ride, The place is very nice,a good alternative to Tagaytay (climate) might frequent the place, We parked the van at the hotel, ate lunch then unload and prepare the bikes, enjoyed the downhill part the problem is going back up, literally pushed the bike back to the hotel ;D ha! ha! Bimbo enjoyed pedalling upward sort of Training for him.

@ rocky @ arcireyes Thanks Sir! I know you've been going there alot of times, have you encountered cars racing goin up,(drag racing) is it common in that place? yesterday while we are riding downhill, Ive heard engines roaring and I know its coming up fast, so I quickly slowed down at the roadside (alot of grass) biimbostik whose ahead of me was already stopped on the side of the road, two cars side by side zoom us by, dont know if they're practicing their drifting skills or just playing with each other,no concern to other people who might be on the same road goin down, unfortunately I wasnt able to capture it in video, since they are so fast that I wasnt able to get my camera, but , we had a glimpse of the drivers, they look like some rich kids brats. thats why Im asking you Sir if you experienced any similar incident during one of your ride going to Sierra Madre Hotel ?

hi sheose, drag racing going up sierra madre road first time i heard of it, bunch of motorcycle guys going up sierra in group and sometimes having the urge to race it....yes....saw it a couple of times, but this one.........hmmmmm.....i hope just an isolated case though. but one thing good in that road is while speeding downhill you easily gets warned of an upcoming motorized traffic and gets enough time to safely slow down (like what you did). so its just a matter of putting safety first when going down the sierra madre road. just enjoy the view and the ride ;D @ rocky @ arcireyes Thanks Sir! Hi Sir... When was this ride? Last Sunday? If it is, maybe you're the one we saw. It's my first time and I agree it could be an alternative to Tagaytay. Nice roads and less polluted air but beware of those roaring motorized vehicles. hehe

Nice pics!!! I live in Cainta, me and my friends usually ride the antipolo loop and maarat... and since none of us have been to sierra madre, would appreciate if you could give directions going to this place... we'd love to try out something new... Thanks! If you are familiar with Antipolo and Maarat then it would be easy. If you are coming from Cainta, go towards Antipolo via Marcos highway and just GO STRAIGHT. Upon reaching the Sumulong Highway junction (I think this is the masinag market) just GO STRAIGHT to COGEO. You will see Forest Hills past the market. Keep on climbing until you reach Kabading (this is where you can go out to coming from Maarat, if you care to take it from there). Just keep going down to the Pinugay area. The landmark is the famous Bulaluhan row after the bridge. Keep going and you will climb past FOREMOST FARMS. Keep going to COTTAGE GARDENS. After the climbs, you will go down a long ways to see the TANAY REHAB CENTER and then you climb again and if you have any powers left, you will see the SKY and you're a few kilometers away from SIERRA MADRE. If you are really masochistic like some here, you can go on down to PRANJETTO HILLS and down to LAGUNA area back to civilization via BINAGONAN. Hey guys! just correct me with the landmarks if I got anything wrong or reversed. The waypoints are available here: trail.motionbased.com/trail/episode/view.mb?episodePk.pkValue=3425275You just get the google earth file and see the directions on google earth. Good luck!

sheose, Drag racing? Never. Group of motorcyles? Yes. You can hear them coming. Listen intently and be very alert especially when bombing euphorically downhill at 40+ kph. Convoy of very rugged 4x4 SUVs. Yes.

@ rocky dont if they are drag racing,or just simply having fun, but definitely outguning each other they occupied both sides of the road, its ok if they only follow each other. If I remember it correctly its a mazda (two door, convertible) dont know what model is that, and a honda S2000 they are both color black, on their tail is a silver X5 bmw. thank God no accident occured since its election day, alot of motorcycles coming to and fro, fetching voters. better have a presence of mind and ear of a bat when going down, ha! ha! no matter what, I'll still go back to that place its a cheap alternative to Tagaytay, love the climate, the cool breeze, My family enjoyed their stay last nov 2-3, unfortunately, the bulalo runs out! nagkaubusan. planning to back there again on the 30th since its another long weekend. Thanks alot for sharing! its here in PinoyMTBikers we first saw it. and I know there are alot more places to be discovered. Ride On !

thanks for the directions radical1962! will definitely try that out... but i'll probably check it out with my car first ;D btw, how many kms. from masinag to the sierra madre hotel? The trip is 100km roundtrip from my house. Based on my computations, it's about 12km from my house to Masinag so doing the math that comes to around 38kms from Masinag to Sierra Madre. The distance seems short but the elevation gain during the ride is about 582m according to my GPS. You will feel your heart pounding during the climbs, I maxed at 175bpm during the climbs with an average heart rate of 145bpm for the whole trip.

Is it the one near the bridge near a Talipapa. You are right i saw a lot of people eating there. Last Nov. 3 when i went up again the place was already close at around 3:30pm on my way down ... sayang i even brought my kids. better luck next time OT: by the way how much is the Bulalot there ? Thanks again

that's correct biimbostik...coming from sierra its after the bridge and before the 2-3 km climb to ka beki...am not sure about the price...usually i pay around 70-75 with rice and coke na yun...i heard from the tindera at mang vic's sierra, na kasosyo rin daw yung mang vic duon.
