Sabak Sports organized a ride in Corregidor last Sat, July 29. 40 riders in all showed up at the Pier and took the Ferry to Corregidor island. It was a very fun ride. The road parts were beautiful. It was all very well kept, and well organized. We also rode on some very unused trails. It was pretty cool seeing the ruins overgrown with vines and roots. We ended with the Malinta Tunnel Lights and Sounds show. Very dramatic and exquisitely done. Thanks to Sabak Sports for not only a fantastic ride, but also for taking us to such a historic place. Loading the bikes into the ferry. 40 bikes in the hold. Finally we arrive. Getting ready at the dock. Snapshot opportunity at one of the numerous batteries scattered throughout the island. (and a welcome rest after a killer uphill) One of the big guns. You can still see the nicks and scratches it received from enemy fire. Milling about the monument. Triplets. 16 out of the 40 bikes were Titus. Rest stop at the lighthouse. I tore up my rear tire on one of the stony downhills. Luckily, we had duct tape. Duct tape will fix anything.

Inside the Malinta Tunnel. The show was awesome and very emotional. (I saw some very macho mountainbikers get teary eyed at the end) Some trails led to some very interesting photo ops, with ruins in the background. The bikes are back in the boat. My bike at the Pacific War Memorial. (my new desktop image)

It was P1500 per rider, inclusive of Breakfast and Lunch, plus P150 for those that wanted to join the Malinta Tunnel tour. Sulit!

Well, I was just along for the ride. Maybe those interested can contact Boy or Ricky of Sabak Sports.
Bring lots of spare tubes, though. I think the group had around 7 or 8 flats. Lots of sharp rocks and loose stones (as evidenced by my torn up rear tire). Around 65% of the ride was on road but the remaining 35%-trails were really cool. Also, bring a camera as the place is just riddled with photo ops.

Thats cool! I did that tour and it was pretty awesome. It would have been more fun on a bike. This should be a regular event a few times a year. BTW when I got teary eyed during the tunnel portion... it was due to dust in my eye . I can see how those macho guys' tears can get misinterpreted

Hi guys, I was able to get in touch with the people running the operations of Corregidor and he told me that for those interested in bringing their bikes to corregidor, all you have to do is write a request to them, at least 2 days prior to the trip, so that the bikes be allowed to be brought on board the fast boats.
