hi Guys wanna share ours shots during the race Dirtraction Race 2007 (Battle at Bukit Timah) 24 June 20077 members of our group here joined the race, nobody get to the Top 5 but everybody finished the race. there's a medal to those who finished the race as a consolation prize, not bad to those 1st time to join a race. everybody's happy and enjoy the race. ____________________________________________________ . . . a message from Dirtraction DirTraction's, 'Battle @ Bukit Timah MTB race' - What a battle it was!
Most certainly a weekend to remember as DirTraction's Battle @ Bukit Timah MTB race saw many new faces in each race category. Competitors and participants who had flocked to the trail, whether local or not, had a ball of a time either on the trail itself or under the comforting shade provided by the big Red Bull wigwam. It was by far the biggest turnout ever of mountain biking tribes, their supporters & spectators alike, at the Bukit Timah-Dairy farm Pass-Echo Valley area. We hit a total of 186 mountain bikers taking on one of our toughest mtb trails, with the largest category of 51 riders signing up for the Men's Senior A!
In the Mens Masters, Paul Moir from Australia took 1st place as leader of a group of 34 riders
The Mens Open race wasn't without excitement either as Junaidi Hashim (fresh from coming in 2nd in the Men's Open, 2weeks ago at the Masai-Johor MTB race in Malaysia) overtook Samuel Yang, who battled technical problems in the 2nd lap. Junaidi led the race all the way till the very end, defending his title as Men's Open Champion for the 1st race of the season. Both Junaidi & Samuel are peaking in fitness, in preparation for the year-end Southeast Asian Games in Thailand... All the best fellas. Do Singapore Proud!
In the Womens Open category, favorite wonder woman Athena Han (2006-2007 Singapore Women's National MTB Champion) came in 1st, leading from start to finish but with Angela Gray hot on her heels in 2nd place. 10 year old Sonia Chua - who was supposed to take part in the Kids Div C for 10-14yrs at the Adidas-Kids course - opted to do 2 laps of the grueling 7km cross-country loop to rub shoulders with her older mountain bike sistas'. She completed her first adult-category race winning herself a Podium finish! Girl power!
The Boys A and B and Mens Senior A and B category bikers had their share of torture, as they completed 2 laps of the extended BT-XC 7km loop, while the Kids C and D were testing their mountain biking skills at the Adidas kids course.
Congratulations to all the winners! At DirTraction events, no finisher goes home without a medal!
Stay tuned for more events in the coming month and also some information about the next up and coming race at Tampines!
Thanks for getting dirty with us over the weekend!

Another addition to my Favorites List. ;D ;D ;D quotes from her blog. "Check out this “Garang” picture taken by Rohan during last sunday’s race. Love my Adidas top as well, it was padded, so no bra (the twins were let loose to breath!) and the colour matched my bike! Not forgetting they were the apparel sponsors for the Battle @ Bukit Timah race!"

grabe, rider 372 is breath taking. she's the best looking girl i've seen on wheels. oh yeah, i better wipe the drool on my keyboard, hehehe. the guy who's front tire got removed from the wheelset, i think he was using tubeless wheelsets. i've seen this before on a race as well sa bataan. it was ian mojiks. his front tire totally got removed from the wheelset before my very eyes, hehehe. i was behind him. he could've done better if it werent for the mechanical failure. prior to that, on our first run, his rear tire had a tumor but he pushed through and only gave up when the front tire totally gave up. gosh, how cumbersome tubeless is pala. so what's the point in having tubeless if reliability is questionable? its no different from a tubed system. oooops...........sorry for the OT. thank you for sharing these pictures. rider 372 made my day.

hey guys, its unfair huh ! you only notice the Lady Rider in 372, how about the other things here ?
anyway, its only normal he he he, men look at women, its bad when men look at men
this girl is one of the motivating factor why we joined the race, a girl like her always joined a race and for us, most at the time watch her only during the race, shame . . . so joined na lang kami so that we ride with her in the race.
anybody want to joined us ? i think Aug is the next race, no particular date at the moment. sa Tampines Trail, not a quite technical trail but endurance is needed.

yukon, we'll be proud if we have someone, esp from Pinas, to join the next race. many of us plan to join the race in Aug. hey yukon want to ask you, is this guy really tough ? we can support him when he's here. our group here already started racing, we just join just for fun but if we have someone with potential, i think that's a good shot for us here. all of us here have a full time job and we do ride only on weekends that why we don't expect much for the Top 5. i hope you got the point. just inform us when you and this guy really want some exposure. warning, don't under estimate the riders here esp the white/caucasian riders, they are so experienced. edongfind the link of Angela Blog from the previous post if you want more pics. @ badburn, the next race should be better. our Dirtraction 2007 race is not quite good, a lot of unexpected things happen in the trail during the race. pa-tune-up mo bike mo to avoid chain trouble. i never expected Francis to get tire problem, i though he will be in Top 5 but to lose more than 10 mins is a sure 'no win'. me too, i shouldn't go to party before the race.
