How i wish the organizers would CLEAN the trail the event used... we came back there and saw lots of plastic cups used in the water station.. so sad. they didnt even bother to clean their mess.

very sad indeed. the organizers apparently don't care much for the environment. is there any way to publicly shame or guilt the sponsors into cleaning up the mess that was created? negative publicity perhaps? how can mt bikers expect to portray a positive image when they impact the environment in such a highly negative way?
sometimes it comes down to money, unfortunately. if a boycott or bad press hurts the bottom line of the sponsor, then they will force the organizers to clean up after an event. or they will quit sponsoring events.
where's the pride? I thought attitudes about the environment were changing.
looked like a great event otherwise.

i think they only care about the money. how do we inform them about this? is there a PinoyMTBiker member that's also part of the organizers?

Thanks for raising your concerns, guys. I'll follow up with Edmund about the clean up.
On a related note, maybe we can all help up with cleaning up the trails, not just in Maarat, but any trail that we enjoy riding in? Event, festival or race notwithstanding.
That said, let's all help decrease our impact on Mother Nature in our everyday lives as well. Small and token it may seem, but it is still a start.
Happy trails!
