While I was traversing Katipunan Avenue my interior came out and my rims where kissing the road. Good thing I was at a slow pace and counterflowing the traffic on the way to UP Diliman, while I was taking a shower from the later afternoon rain. As I slowly checking out the internal part of my exterior, I saw nothing, checked the internal tube but twas ok. When I setup the wheel again I saw this small tear on my wheel (IRC Serac 26x1.95). Tried patching it a bit using my small patches for the internal ones but to no avail. So I walked from Katips to Libis on the way home, taking another shower from the heavy rain. The walk was worth it because of the rain. Now I've switched back to my MOB 1.5 slick tires. I noticed that my IRC wheels where thinner compared to my MOB's, is this really the case? Bought my IRC's at King's in Quiapo. Here are some of the pics : Front wheel. The red part was the patches I placed in the inside of the wheel. 6 lives left.

brad, there's a bikeshop along CP Garcia Ave. (The names escapes me at the moment). Maliit lang pero maraming nagpapagawa dun. Relatively competent mechanics.
CP Garcia is the road perpendicular to Katipunan; one end is in front of Sta. Maria de la Strada church. The other end is at University Ave. in UP. The bikeshop is somewhere in between.
Had you known, it would've been a shorter walk to that bikeshop instead of Libis. FYI lang. Hope it never happens again though.

Try to make an emergency tire boot out of toothpaste tube and put it on your bike bag. It could save you some walking on your next misadventure. Or you can use a new or "malutong" na peso bill. what will you do with the toothpaste tube? you're going to patch it on the tire? how? i want to learn! hehehe

put it in between the inner tube and the tyre with the tear portion. it will prevent the inner tube from bulging out when you re-inflate the tyre. a 2" x 4" cut size should be enough.

Speed Maluhay is the name of the shop Good mechanics but don't ever have them true your wheel the morning after they have a drinking session! Hehe
