Alright! Here's the race details and pics.
The race is a 13km per lap, 2 laps for the Under 21, 3 laps for 21-above, and 4 laps for Pro. For the first two category, sun was over us, no cloud cover, no canopy, and heat was our main enemy. All the riders from Baguio have only one word "ANG INIT!!!"
The route was crazy, from the starting line, by about 50 meters, you'll go on a 40-45++deg uphill pavement for about 800+meters, then u-turn. Going down you'll reach speeds up to 60kph or more, then to the rough road. My bike was bouncing off because of the fast speed (35-40kph) and rocks. Then you'll go into up the mountains and ride through single tracks. Going up is hard, very steep incline and direct sunlight. ouch! but going deep into the mountains, you'll experience canopy cover. yahoo! then back down again, steep and loose soil downhill with 2ft drops on singletrack. Then pedal again on a slight uphill on rocky roads to the finish.
The last two categories were lucky, it was already 4pm when they started and they have cloud cover. We were all amazed by the Philippine Team who joined, there were 3. They were fast and furious. In the first 3 laps the 3 were ahead by by a minute from the others. Then in the final the one team member was beaten by Dan-dan of All Terra.
As for me, other racers said that i should be included in the top 10. On the second lap, in the mountains, twigs caught up in the space between the rotor and the spokes. My wheelset got stuck and i can't remove it from the fork. So i tried to cut the twigs, finally i was able to remove the wheelset, but the brake pad went with it and got lost. So most of the single track and dh, i have to walk since i only have the rear brakes. In the process of fixing and walking, about 15-20 riders passed by. On the way back to the finish i was still able to chase 5 riders and so I finished 27th.
Here's the pics. As usual whenever in my bike, i only bring my digicam, so forgive the quality. And also, not too much pictures since i was too frustrated i didnt take many pictures, its only now i regretted not taking many pics.
