anyone seen this bike here locally? how much was it? my impression (from following PinoyMTBiker) is that Giant bikes are quite a bit cheaper here in the Phils. I think i like the geometry.

Try Extreme in Quezon City, they sell built bikes and they also do 'kalas'. I inquired a year ago then it was sub P50T for frame only.

I think i like the geometry. was thinking about the same bike. according to the giant dealer (contacted via all terra), they don't have the reign x series, just the reign 1 and 3, which only have 6" of travel vs. 6.75". Let me know if you find a shop where its available...

Asian market is still stuck in XC-oriented bikes. Someone needs to import these frames. Who's the distributor here in the Phils?

The official Philippine distributor is 3T Techno Turbo Trading but they don't sell direct but only to dealers like Extreme, Israel, All Terra and Joven.
He's actually my cousin, let me ask if they are bringing in the X1 or XO. Nevertheless, the dealers will know. Ask John of Extreme, he should know what's coming in.

apol ur violent review here needed...... evs fafa Jong no need to be violent, "violence is not always the answer" hehehehe anyway reign x is really a all-around versatile bike, if your the type that wants to have just one bike to do several types of riding the reign x is for you. like what I read in one of the thread that best discribes the reign x is "it is a DHer's XC bike and an XCer's DH bike" Cheers!!! no violence Jong! hehehe

ok sir apol! if u dont want violence, what about the destruction test of this frame, is it sturdy & heavy? performance wise overall hmmmmm! it is a DHer's XC bike and an XCer's DH bike thinking multiple brainer of this frame & comparing to SC Nomad

Mga Bros,
This is just a question since the topic is about Giant's Reign. Here's my inquiry, if the Reign X1 or X0 is the Dh'llers XC bike and the XC'ers DH bike... how about the normal Reign w/ only the 6 inch travel. Is the performance the same as the two? Except the travel... Will it handle drops and jumps? Your inputs are highly appreciated. Thanks...
Hi Apol, pls shed light on this... thanks...

Ride Hard and Ride Safe... sir as far as the reign x is concerned I could definitely give you feedback on its characteristics, it is pretty much behaves like a long travel bike minus the weight, it can handle drops and jumps and with the maestro suspension you can do climbs on it as well. with regards to the reign, if you were refering to the 07 model it might be the same as the reign x minus .75 inches of travel, the 08 on the other hand is mainly built as an long legged all mountain bike and is more inclined to trail riding rather than freeriding and DH. the 08 reign actually looks like a longer travel trance x. anyway I hope this helps.

If you think the Reign is just an oversized trail bike ... you haven't seen Boyet Camba play around with his old version Reign at the 4X track like it was a DJ bike doin doubles n tabletops. I think I remember that one of the Atherton brothers also use a Reign for urban freeriding (albeit with heavy duty components).

I'm planning to use the Reign (if I can beat the time in buying it ;D) for a some gravity actions... freeride (drops and jumps) and running on DH tracks in Cebu... hehehehe... for fun/adrenaline rush lang and not for DH racing. I have another rig that's intended for DH racing...

ok i think you guys should be more specific. sounds like there's a bit of confusion going around. it's reign X or XO or X1... the one w/ the 67deg head angle and 6.7" of travel. That's what's making it feel like a small DH bike. The other Reign is a long legged XC bike.
since i started this thread.... OT.... Specialized SX Trail. Where's the best place to find one?
