Would biking worsen the coughing and/or soar throat? I woke up with a sore throat 2 Saturday's ago but still opted to go to Bulacan DRT.. I just gargled with Bactidol and drank Bio Flu every 4 hours... I felt fine naman the whole trail. But once we were in the car going home (adrenalin went down i guess). The chills started and i got very high fever for 3 days.. hehehe... I think when someone develops sore throat (everyone knows it will probably go down and become a flu) he should just rest.

Would biking worsen the coughing and/or soar throat? it might make it worse or it may not. but one thing's for sure, staying in bed sucks, hehehe ;D. when i had a terrible cough as in a terrible terrible cough, so terrible i was not able to sleep for 24hrs, i went out biking (puray). i was happy i went biking even without sleep and coughing violently. i'd rather have fun than take care of my cough, hehehe ;D.

first aid to sore throat: gargle with bactidol. as an alternative you can use lukewarm water with salt. relieves sore throat better than strepsils. cough is a different matter i guess.

rides like brg. bato is very physically demanding...it can lower your immune system...it certainly worsen my condition when we rode it..i was still recovering from flu then...the following monday i wasn't able to go to work again..add that to my previous 3 days sl. its just amazing that during the ride, all symptoms were like all gone...except you're a bit weaker and for the extra amount of mucous in the nasal passages..but its thin so madali i-expel...its really after the ride sisipa ulit.

When you are sick, take a break. It will go away sooner if you let your immune system recover.

I believe when we bike we sweat a lot and our skin pores tend to open. That is where it gets dangerous cause cold air should not enter our bodies on hot temperatures. Events like this could lead to an ill condition, specially when we have coughs and colds where our immune system is low. Better rest and take plenty of fluids.

If dehins severe cough , I'd say go for a pasyal pace ride The fresh air could be good Pwede naman maglakad during climbs But drink a lot of water , mga 10 gallons an hour dehydration will make your cough worse But if your going to be hammering , di lang cough , may lagnat ka pa when you get home

I think it's ok. Provided you do it in moderate phase pa rin. But I knew someone who is "more cough-more hard trails" type of guy, his name is... GARY!
Get well soon Jedi Master. Take your exotic meds regularly. Wag kang pasaway. (trans: Don't shift to the dark side, master.)

i do bike sometimes alone when i have cough, i love biking and was also concerned to people who i pass by not to infect them, i bring bimpo to cover my mouth, sometimes i bite it while riding. If you have cough take solmux agad then ibuprofen, this was the advice of my sister whose a pharmacist. She said to me that when my throat starts to feel achy towards the shoulder i should rest and take those tabs for two days or else trankaso kinabukasan, which means no biking for a longer period.
