Hi Everyone,
I used to not go to this part of the board because I rode mountain bikes for the most part. But now that my right shoulder is killing me from arthritis and it's harder for me to do the twist and turns at age 58, I thought I'd invest on a road bike and I did. Now my problem is the seat. Even with a good bike short, I still get the burn and numbness from the seat that I use. I tried different brands and it did not help. Any suggestion?
I do most of my roadbiking at night with my son because of the heat during the day. I must say it's fun with night lights and all.

Jr, I tried the one that came with my bike. It's made by velo I think. I ordered the one on the picture. It looks nasty but hey, I'm 58. www.spiderflex.com/the reviews are good. Nice to be back. I will login from time to time. Hi Roger, Long time. Did you ever try pearl Izumi microsensor short? I have same problem but when using microsensor short I feel better specially with a long ride. Give us review after a few rides. I used narrow seats. Exactly support the padding of my microsensor short when I seat down. Sometimes standing once in while help the circulation.

I heard about microsensor shorts. I'll get one next time I'm at performance bike. What lighting system do you use when you go out at night? I'm thinking of getting an hid system from Trailtech. I heard that not only are they cheaper but they are very good as well. Give us review after a few rides. I used narrow seats. Exactly support the padding of my microsensor short when I seat down. sir, i suggest using the same seat you were using on your mtb - assuming you were comfy with that.

Hi Kontra, So far the Spiderflex seat is working pretty good for me. I don't experience any discomfort down there and it let me go long ways with no problem. Medyo mabigat nga lang ng konti pero okay na rin. I tried using it on my MTB last Saturday and it worked great. Same thing, no burning sensation or numbness. Take care... sir, i suggest using the same seat you were using on your mtb - assuming you were comfy with that.

Hello jr, The Pearl Izumi is too expensive. I bought the Canari instead and it worked just as well. With the Spiderflex seat, I could go miles without burns even if I am not wearing shorts with padding in them. I am slowly getting my energy back after a long lay off from biking. I am also doing some yoga exercises to help me with stretches before and after a biking trip. I am starting to feel the effect of aging specially if I do not exercise. Facts of life I suppose. For about P5,000 or so, I got myself a Cane Creek Thudbuster... I have the Long Travel (LT) on my MTB hardtail, and the Short Travel (ST) on my road bike. It's heavier than your standard seat post, but hey, it sure is comfy!

That's cool. Maybe when my seat breaks, I'll try it. For now I'm happy with the Spyderflex. Thanks for your advise.. For about P5,000 or so, I got myself a Cane Creek Thudbuster...
