I used to. Almost any remote aircraft in fact--heli, warbird, quad drone, fixed wing drone, 3D plane, pattern plane, FPV, line-of-sight. RC was my first love. But my son loves biking and biking got me more fit so I put that in the back burner for now.
How can I help?

It looks hard as they are flying line of sight I own an FPV quadcopter and am just starting out. I'm looking for other flying spots and seems like UP CMO is the only place "near" my area

I used to. Almost any remote aircraft in fact--heli, warbird, quad drone, fixed wing drone, 3D plane, pattern plane, FPV, line-of-sight. RC was my first love. But my son loves biking and biking got me more fit so I put that in the back burner for now. How can I help? Wow, that's nice. I've seen people still flying their RC planes at UP CMO. It looks hard as they are flying line of sight I own an FPV quadcopter and am just starting out. I'm looking for other flying spots and seems like UP CMO is the only place "near" my area I believe there are many places you can fly where there are groups: Tytana College parking lot, Heroes trail has a small drone racing course, there is also Brittany field in Molino, The Bike playground just held a drone race last June, you can check RCPhilippines either web or facebook to find more flying fields. You can fly your quad in many places since you don't really need much airspace. My planes need a lot of airspace to do the maneuvers and of course execute take off and landing. The number one thing that I always emphasize however is safety. Unlike riding your bike, you are not most likely to get hurt but other people are. So whenever I fly, here are some things I look out for: 1) Just like biking, you have to go through a pre-flight check list. Battery voltage, on the drone, video receiver and transmitter., GPS lock and compass calibration, (if you fly with GPS), Check video reception, check with your buddies to make sure you are on different channels, arm the drone and hover the drone and double check that controls are responding. Put on your goggles and go fly. 2) even in FPV, fly the aircraft in front of you. Set a flying window or area in front of you and make sure there are no people there. 3) when I was starting out I tried not to go far and too high. because things look different from the air, if you plan to go high, do it incrementally, try to pick out landmarks to make sure you know how stuff looks like from high in the air. 4) I would also not scrimp on the receivers, use the branded ones. Many people will tell you that Orange RX, or Lemon RX is okay but I have personally witnessed many failures from these brands. All it takes is a signal spike from a cell tower or a radio repeater and the RX will stop. You can lose your drone and worse yet, hurt someone. 5) Don't fly over people, houses or cars. Don't fly behind you or behind other people (this is common flying etiquette but still many flyers do not follow this). 6) And also, like biking, improve your skills incrementally. Go slow at first then build speed as you get better. Safety safety safety. I've seen fields get closed down, groups disbanded, property damaged and people get hurt if safety is not practiced. BTW, I think biking is just as expensive.

Wow, thanks for the info Sir. I guess you're a veteran at flying. Yes, for me, safety is top priority when flying. I'll try to look for the places you've mentioned and hopefully get more hours of flight time
