For the neatfreaks, environmentalists, and wannabe halimamaws in all of us - tired of seeing the usual suspects pedalling away and waiting for you at the next roundabout? - tired of seeing bikers carelessly throw gel wrappers onto the trails? -tired of cleaning and maintaining your hydration pack? Gel-Bot features a patent pending reservoir for gel and watersource that allows the laspag you (and me) to drink water, eat gel, or do both at the same time without the halimamaws noticing. Ergo, you can now minimize those pee and rest stops where everyone secretly eats their power stashes, bwahahaha

I just bought one (about php850.00). Look promising. Need to test it this weekend. BTW, the brand is Gel-Bot/GU Energy Gel.

I have one . it sucks . it can be a chore to get the last remaining gel out of the syringe , and it can be potentially messy to fill .

leo, Sir...you can pull out the reservoir (from the bottle cap) for cleaning and filling up of Gel. its a snap-on, same way in pulling out of the plunger. Just give a holler if you want me to post pics

uhm, what's the advantage of carrying your regular hydrapack and gels? the only advantage i see here is if you're on a race and you want to quickly access your water or gel in the middle of a race. otherwise, on a regular trail ride, it seems still better to just carry your own hydrapack and gels (just keep the wrapper in your bag). I'd rather have a better insulating system to keep your water cool for several hours while out on the trail.

Granted.
Keywords: Race/Quick access...say, Xterra/Triathlon and what have you (unless there's a prescribed food and water zone)...and especially those who insist on carrying only 1 bottle.

As I mentioned earlier I have one of these bottles , I was not really impressed with the function . But taking into account that my preferences or needs may be very different from another user of this product . What may SUCK for me , may be the bomb for someone else . So to be fair to the product , I will mention what i dislike about it and if it does not seem to be a issue with other users they can go and buy one if it suits their needs .
I initially intended to use this bot for road riding and the occasional tri race . After using it a few times , here is my field report.
It is also quite difficult to determine the amount of Gel being consumed , its reservoir ( based on my use ) can take in two packs of Clif Gel . I normally would like to consume one gel every 45 or 50 min of paced riding , it is hard to approximate what would be one half of the reservoir, as compared to consuming one gel packet every 45 to 50 .
Another frustration is that the gel/mouth cap does not conform with a standard bottle neck.
Although the only reason I wanted it to mate with a standard neck is so that i could use a Polar bottle to keep my water cool . The only reason I wanted to use a polar bottle with the cap is because the water gets warm and unlike regular bottles , I cant freeze it 80% the night before and top it when I go out .
Operation can be cumbersome initially , but I guess with more frequent use it should become easier .
The plus side of this bottle is that it looks nice and could be a conversation piece .
I will use the bottle again and try it out some more , if it ends up impressing me , I will post again and mention its redeeming qualities ( used it twice , threw it in my closet and went back to my Polar bottle)

randy, Raven's for P899.00 allan, buy 1 ti Protrek get 1 Suunto 50 off, hehehe leo, fair enough. Same concerns here. Weird, but it was a choice between the Polar and Gel-Bot for me too. I ended up sampling the Gel-Bot because Zefal already has a thermo flask. Here's to hoping for a bladder with gel reservoirs also.
