time to replace my brake pads. i have avid bb7 disk brakes and im wondering if Alligator brand pads are any good. any of you guys tried these pads? does it last long? hows the stopping power? notice any noise?

Replaced my pads several months ago with this brand... so far so good.

Hey Bruce! Like what I said in my sms, I used this after I finished my original Avids and found that it did not last that long. In fact I went through 2 sets (in 1 year!) before switching back to original avids. I find that it scores the disc badly and tends to be noisier when dirty than the Avids. And for the price difference, I would stick to the originals (If I am not mistaken the originals go for around 700 while alligators for 450?). And XCTOFI is right, you have to file a portion of the alligator to make it fit well into the calipers... XCTOFI, I wouldn't recommend rebonding. If it is not done right, the pad material might loosen and jam into the caliper causing a bad accident... it's not worth the savings to have a face plant!!!

Thanks for the heads up sir bobet, hmm... face plant....brings back bad memories . i know how it feels already.heheheh i noticed that the pad materials on the alligator is not that solid as what the avids has.will get an orig one soon as well.

mga sir kung kukuha kayo ng avid pads baka pwede sabay-sabay tayong 3 kasi i plan to get a replacement too. Baka bgay tayo ng discount pag 3 agad binili natin?
