im choosing between the two, reviews say that as-x is bulletproof and could last a lifetime, but i also like the fly and the stinky is my first choice. which is lighter anyhow and the pedaling, which is better?

I guess there's no budget 'coz the foes would be almost if not double the Yeti.
With platform shocks (like DHX w/ pro-Pedal) they would all be climbable.

Lifetime of abuse? i'm not sure if u will find a bike that will do this. They are all made of aluminum so eventually they will break if u expose it to a lot of abuse. w/ normal riding thought they should last u a long time... but who wants to keep a bike that long. ;D Drops to flat is a bike killer, that's for sure. how's your riding? what do u like to ride? what do u see yourself riding in 2 yrs time? unless people here know you and the way u ride, no one could give u any valid advice. i guess u can't really test ride them eh? btw, most of the time it's not the frame that you will break... the parts. not to mention that upgrade sickness everyone's guilty of. ;D

if you're planning to race, get the fly but if you feel like you're....... what the hell, get the fly anyways
moment can be a light freeride rig if you wanted to, but always remember the keyword here " light "

i know most people would recommend Foes... but if you're just going to be starting I would suggest keeping those mula and buying something less "exclusive" and buying one that u can trash.... 'coz u will be doing exactly that. U don't sound like u just walis money from your floor. i always say if u have the cash then buy whatever u like but don't think it'll be heaven-n-earth differences comparing the foes to the others.... but it'll get u exclusivity and one fine machine.

actually sir peach, yun din iniisip ko eh. i also have the da bomb 4play fs as an option, i think that will do until i enhance further my skills. i have a plan of isolating myself from the world and train up in the ilocos mountains. hehe...

man if you had the cash, get the best dh rig you can buy otherwise you'll regret buying a cheap rig that wouldn't pefrom well and stand up to the abuses. i agree with peachy, start with an entry level dh rig that you'll trash. The EMR stinger will do, i've used it before and never had a problem with it. your skill will tell you when it's time to shop for a new rig.
sama ka kasi sa clinic sa PEYUPS

you are welcome to join us. it's better to learn the ropes with the pros like Boyet, Bans, Ely, Nilo, Jeff and James. they will give you advise and guide you through your developement. Plus, minimize the injury.
about the frame, like i said if you got the dough get it. or try jeff's fly before you decide.

it's not actually a clinic, it's sort of a sunday session kinda like sunday school when we were kids hehehe.
we've constructed a small course that consists of a 3 ft jump, a step down, a berm, another jump with 8 to 10 ft gap, i'm not sure about the exact measurements, another step down and some small ones for the newbies.
we've also connected some landmarks inside the university we call the up trail.
we've been doing these for awhile now, and i'm proud to say that we've done well. and yes it's free, just show up and get to know the riders.
ofcourse everyone is welcome
here are some of the pics

Salamat for the pictures above. Ngayon lang nakita UP Playground sa PinoyMTBiker. Ngayon rin lang nakita picture of our IDOLs doing what they love to do most - jump and fly and land with finesse (sometimes with a loud bang...Ouch!!!) Wow! You are such a delight to watch executing your skills.

rocky that loud bang would be me, landing my face on the transition.... ouch! hehehe. thank you for the kind remarks, please do join us sometime. riders from PEYUPS are really cool once you get to know them
elokahn that was Jun we call him the corrector, simlpy becasue he corrects himself everytime he made an error in the air. This dude gots lot of potential, he's fast, i mean really fast but his work gets in ther way of his destiny hehehe
