Could anyone give a review for the Shimano Deore hydraulic disc brakes? I saw one in an LBS for 6500 and I was wondering if it would be worth getting over the Avid BB7 since the price difference is around 1000.

mister kevin kosme ;D ;D ;D
i chose the shimano deore hydro over the BB7 recently for my second bike. but it was a tough one to make, coz avid's definitely a quality DB, but when i went through the deore hydro testing it it's well modulated, and wala nang mintis ang stopping power nya, i can tell the difference with my other DB mech system which is also a shimano.
if you're willing to add a little more to have the hydro it's worth it ;D

My Deore is 2 years old in my old GTS MTB, still working, no bleeding pa, works well, it's a good choice, you get your moneys worth.

Got the Deore hydros myself. Almost 1 year, no bleeding necessary yet. I even bought a bleed kit with the brakes but I havent used it !!! And the Power is really... well... powerful. Only complaint is the rear brake seems to be more squeak prone, but only when at low speeds. When at speed, or bombing down a trail, I dont notice it at all. Just keep the pads oil free and the caliper aligned, and its a great brake. cheaper pa ang pads.
