I have an MX Pro with ETA. The ETA shortens the fork by around an inch and a half, but it still has around an inch of travel when engaged. The shorter travel and altered geometry is very useful when climbing. The inch of travel is plush enough to smoothen the climb without being inefficient. Just remember to turn it back to full travel when finished climbing.

Prime Konan, I'm still using a Z1 FR ETA on my 5.5evp (to be replaced next week). I use to have a Z150 with ETA as well. Same comment with Jr and cobym here. On thing though, the ETA has the tendency to disengange very slowly during long climbs so you have to check it from time to time. Bee

Haven't tried the motion control rock shox. The pike got great reviews in an aussie mtb mag recently though.

My ETA did not last at all. Got it new with my Bullit, after a few months the lock-out stopped working so I went and got that replaced. It was still under warranty so no problem. Worked for a while and then the same thing happened.... so I sold it. If i remember correctly the cartridge cost around $150 or so. I must have used it only a handful of times.
