from experience brad, he he he
i saw vigor helmets also in full throttle in robinson's pioneer. i actually liked the graphics on one of them but didn't buy. i didn't bother reading the stickers inside.
anyway helmets are supposed to pass a safety CPS something or Snell.
as for how tough the helmet is...let's put it this way, most manufacturers would tell you that after a crash, replace your helmet, no matter if it is still in one piece.
compare your helmet to a car with crumple zones. if you collide an owner type jeep and honda, which would be a total wreck? honda 'di ba? but who felt more shock and possible banged the steering wheel? most likely the one in the jeep. the jeep maybe tougher but the one inside probably ain't.
my point? it's okay as long as you don't crash it. although it does degrade by time.
just my .02

brad, as long as your helmet has passed the ANSI and/or SNELL safety standards ur coconut will be protected. and anthax is correct that if you sustain a major crash even there is no visible damage to ur helmet it is wise that you replace it. since this probably voids the safety features of ur helmet.

sir elokahn, aside from helmet, hmm....good brakes are an investment too but it looks like your using Avid already, he he he. if the helmet did not protect you as much as it's supposed to, maybe there's really something wrong. remember christopher reeve? he's advocating using helmets but what happened? one wrong accident and he's a vegetable until he died. but still he lived after the accident. many things happen in an accident, but at least you're a bit safer by wearing a helmet. it's just like the airbag in cars. it's there in case of an accident, but you pray hard you'd never have to use it. BTW, aside from the helmet, i'm also considering knee/shin guards for protection
