guys please post your reviews about these products (pros-cons)
is this a cheap upgrade if you cannot afford a full-suspension bike?

The downward/upward motion quite natural and actually increases control in rough terrain. As the rear wheel hits a bump the suspension actively absorb it and the rider in slightly unaffected by the bump. I'm using a "ZOOM" seatpost coil suspension designed compression to absorb bumps with rebound damping adjustment to slow suspension mechanism to the top-out position. Some opinion regarding seatpost suspension has been discussed in cane creek thudbuster thread.

Duldog, If you're going to compare it to FS frames, talagang cheap upgrade yun. But, there are expensive suspension seatpost out there like the white brother/s air suspension seatpost--8K dude from Powerbikes. But what's the next best thing. Siyempre, the TD of Cane Creek. It's already Php4800 from Velocity. I believe DonB has a couple for sale. Not sure lang kung brand new. RockShox is the other variant. One inch nga lang ang plushness. My suggestion? If you're an uphill guy, then a suspension seatpost will be the answer to add some cushion. On the other hand kung DH/FR/MTX ka, then a suspension seatpost is not the solution. Save na lang for that dreamed FS frame. Suspension seatpost are not meant to be used for extreme riding. They're made for XC purposes only. Goodluck.

tnx!
i was just interested because i saw one at the lbs here in our place but when i asked for details the salesman (a roadie) remarked that its not advisable for off-road use. he didn't offer a convincing explanation.
i saw one tagged at P700 but i forgot the brand.
h2o, tnx for pointing out the thread. i never checked it before i posted

Get a Thudbuster. The other susp seatposts just take the edge of sharp hits and are good for road rides only IMHO. But the TD is a real butt saver when off road. Check out the cane creek thudbuster thread below.

My comments using suspension post... For me is not a good design it always mess up the height adjustment on pedaling .

If you have suspension sitpost, or even a FS Frame, you will feel a downward motion but still it's your saddle that makes your butt sick! Another problem is, ah yes what Jr said, it will give problem on your pedalling. just an opinion from a heavy rider hehehehhe maybe to you or to others this is not a problem.

it lessens the kick to your behind when you fail to notice small obstacles or depressions. it weighs more than the average seatpost. it doesn't work when you are standing. used the Rockshox version for some time. the inch of travel was hardly worth the bother.

Just to round things out I liked them, lalo na yung zoom because it's so cheap! I weighed 22olbs when i rode a hardtail, the seatpost never bobbed on me Yes it's heavy pero my butt didnt care especially sa long trail rides Yes it doesnt work when your standing up, but that is why you stood up in the first place ( bec of big bumps ) Pero it gives you moderately comfy ride , better than a sid tuned w/ zero sag

How much is this ZOOM suspension seatpost? Would like to get one for the missus jeevs, saw some being sold for P400+ at Cartimar a while back. The DNM sus seatpost i think is cheaper, P350-400. personally i've tried both and couldn't notice any significant difference. maybe it's just me coz i spend much more time on a FS bike than on a HT (which i ride on weekends only) so can't really say that the zoom and the DNM gives cushy sensation. haven't tried a thuddy though
