I was scouting for a new frame for a bike i plan to put together tapos i came upon BigCat. Aluminum mtb frame sya at magaan. It is priced at P3850.00 with integrated headset. Did anyone have any experience or heard about BigCat frames? I would really appreciate your insight dito. Search the net for it came out with zero result man ... siguro some of you may have encountered itong frame ... Salamat in advance sa mga insights nyo ...

Hi Southtrail.. I never seen this frame but I just give an opinion base on the information you provided. When you mentioned integrated headset. If you use the bike for MTB I'm not recommending you to get it becuase in the long run you are going to have a hardtime upgrading the suspension fork (not lot of choices) compare to regular treadless headset. dehins ko lang alam sa Pinas kong the price range you mentioned you be able to fine a treadless frame. If I were you I rather invest on the standard frame and just upgraded bit by bit. Jus an opinion brad.

jr.....
huh? what about the integrated headset that's not compatible? pls explain.
you're limited to a few manufacturers that makes that type of headset but the fork is still the same steertube diameter. am i wrong?
i dnt think there's any type of headset that's not that compatible to any fork out there... 1.5 standard myb, just limited but then u can still get the reducer headset.
btw, that's really inexpensive. HT?
i do agree w/ jr about not getting it though. integrated headset means once u destroy the 2lower races, which is integrated into the frame, then the whole frame is useless. aluminum frames are most susceptible to this.... which is what your frame is made of.

Haaah...I thought integrated headset comes only in 1" but seems like they have it in 1 1/8 and 1 1/4. Peachy thanks for clarifying brad.

Peachy sir,
Mas matibay ba kung integrated ang headset over a non-integrated one. Or is it the other way around. Further, kung masira and IHS, may replacement bang mabibili? Kung wala, eh di, goodbye na rin sa frame. Tama ba? Thanks.

non integrated is mas matibay. there's a whole write up sa chrisking website about this a while back. the real integrated i hear doesn't have that lower cup... the one that sits on the frame. so the bearings rest on the frame and the tolerance depends on the frame manufacturer. if u think about it the closer the bearings are to each other the more leverage the fork or stem will have on the bearings. plus the bearings will also be smaller kc it has to sit inside di ba? although kung easy lang yon ride mo i think it would last a while. but i wouldn't take that chance. why when u got all these other options that dnt require that headset standard di ba? so the headset is almost invisible... get yourself a CK (atomik's selling one- he3 PLUG) and show off that headset. heck if i could have a 1.5 headtube i would get that. ha3 hmmm my coming new bike it will be 1.5.

My Giant NRS has integrated headsets. It's replaceable with Chris Kings and FSA. I replaced mine with FSA sealed bearings after the original one disintegrated after 2 years of abuse. My suggestion is get a frame that has guarantee and parts available for it. The Giants, Treks, Specialized and other branded frames are well supported by their dealers in the Philippines. Better yet, go to a good bike shop that gives good and honest advice.
Good luck!

Good luck! oh now it's even harder to do this. ha3 kidding man. but isn't this why u mentioned "good luck" in the end. ok still yanking your chain. sorry. great advice! some of these are actually now called semi-integrated. the lower races are actually replaceable. CK? ...the perdido?
