I've been to bike shops in Cartimar, All Terra and others pero parang di ko afford bumili ng mga branded na frames like Giant, KHS, Spez, etc...
++ I ride XC pala, rarely do jumps or drops, medium built, 160lbs, 5'6''.

you could check out the Diamond Back frames in Quiapo. swak ata sa budget mo yun. not sure where in Quiapo though. the others like allegra might help. PM mo sya.

at that budget, baka gusto mo mag-consider ng hardtail frame ( a good GT i think would be under 5k) plus a Cane Creek Thudbuster suspension seatpost...see the reviews of that product here

Diamondback dude! 5t nalang sya sa quiapo, palitan mo lang ng RS deluxe and you'll have a pretty good trail bike
I love that frame, 2 years of pounding wala pa rin flex ang linkage It's outlived all the other parts of my bike except for the seat It's heavy, pero thats because its 4 trail and agg xc not for racing A friend though has kept the weight down ( 27lbs ) with a light wheelset

Consider a good hardtail+seat post suspension. I happened to drop by Cartimar tonight and there's a new AMEOBA HT frame 6.5k lang! Kasama pa light weight seat post, saddle, headset, headpost, handle bars and grips... Pero if your heart is on a FS talaga might as well check out the Diamondback as Allegra posted. Basta enjoy lang sa trails in the company of others.

q, ok ang diamondback in the hands of a capable athlete like our friend allegra...but my advice would be to try and get an idea of how heavy the assembled bike will actually be and make an honest assessment of your strength & capabilities. why? because one of our friends here had a diamondback fitted w/ deore components...he's a reasonably fit weekend rider, doesn't smoke or drink...but on a number of climbs, he had to get off his bike earlier than i would and start pushing...and he wasn't smiling....so i dunno. i also remember him selling his frame in less than 3-4 months

Q
sa christy's meron din generic looking 4 bar linkage FS frame (ala Da Bomb Cherry Bomb or Giant AC) may nakalagay na ;kinesis', tapos iba't-ibang decals - from cannondale to azonic (generic nga kasi) pero mura at 8k and looks promising especially with a new custom paint job and good components. a bit heavy lang

Kabayan Q, Take their advise... Unless your willing to wait for a good deal on a good Fs frame you'll be spending more than you expect. Ako rin plano buo ng FS pero I'll wait it out for a bargain.

Walang problema sa climbs sa makiling and he's about 40yrs old. Changed to a shock matched to my weight, ayus na.

Ipe!

Ok yan DBR na yan, I used to own one. For the price, it is a steal kasi 4 bar linkage yan at well-made. But NOT recommended for short riders kasi these frames have long top-tubes kaya stretched ka kung maliit ka That is why I sold mine bec. I cant keep up sa climbs

brad....is that you? Musta? Hmmm....plano mo na pala mag FS. Talking about Taiwan made generic FS frames, I saw one that was a clone of an Intense Uzzi in Ross a couple of months ago and they were selling it for 12t. It was painted in the usual intense red and all you need are just the decals.....pwede na.

Any suggestions?
