i'm using an amoeba handlebar on my slalom rig, i'm 5'8", 160 lbs. when i ride i like to feel and hear the wind, even if it's the downhill and bumpy fire road section in sta rosa, yung palabas na ng trail.
eto buhay pa kami pareho. pero gamit ko first generation, yung mga batches ng amoeba ngayon, careful....

some LBS owners like Jane of King's and LBS guys from Laguna cautioned me from using the Amoeba stem specifically yung Borla since may tendency daw na mabasag especially if you do DH, free-ride or even AXC...ayon daw sa ilang riders. yung bar, saddle post mukhang matibay naman. amoeba grips sucks a$$
not sure about other Amoeba items like the Scud series (carbon daw). i have owned Borla and BA parts. quite heavy but cheap. have since upgraded to lighter components.
i suppose amoeba is suited best for entry level bikes and riders. haven't seen their products as OEM in more popular bike brands however

Nakabili kasi ako ng stem at bar na scud, tila ok naman pero yung grips madulas.
Maganda ang design, short stem, mataba ang materials mukhang pang bagsakan.

One model of Ameoba stem has been known to break. More accurately, the screw used to hold the handlebars place breaks.
Cant remember the model. Actual experience heard from a friend whild going down makiling. Heard similar stories from 2 others.

weakness daw talaga ng amoeba, borla in particular, yung stem nila. i think it's sensible to take heed yung mga naging experience ng ibang riders dito. better to be safe than sorry. what i did before was nagdagdag na lang ako to upgrade my set to a da bomb stem...get rid of the grips too coz they're absolutely POS.

Was in a ride in Maarat with some guys from Novaliches. One of them broke his amoeba stem while going down the technical section. The guy broke his pinky finger and nose and had to be trucked down the mountain. The stem broke at the screw junction from over tightening perhaps.
Immediately switched to Thompson ... better safe than sorry.

Si scooter ang nabalian ng stem pababa ng makiling It's the amoeba na may chinese letters nakasulat (?)
/another stem to avoid is tioga. Sakin and a friend's broke . In fairness, we're both heavy weights

Borla yata yung itinatakwil ng mga riders dito he he he walang problema daw sa stem, its the screw used that sucks, pwede kaya palitan ung screw ng ibang screw.
