A never ending search for more backyard trails...curiousity made me decide to explore the inner trail of Mt. Balungao, a dormant volcano in Eastern Pangasinan... Municipal hall of Balungao... On the way to Mt. Balungao Spring Resort... Road going towards the resort is a combination of cemented, fireroad, rough off road, rolling hill, and both technical uphill and downhill... Finally, the resort... Not satisfied, entered a trail which according to local folks is frequented by mountainbikers and hikers... Muds, muds, muds... Accordingly, the trail will take me around the volcano... Muddy uphills... The route going back is even harder as I need to go down the muddy trail. On my way back home, this is what I will never fail to do...drink fresh "tuba" (extracted juice from nipa tree) and eat "patupat" (sweetened malagkit)... Not contented, I ordered more "tuba"and put it in my reservoir...take out... Oh well, my vacation seems very short...will explore more trails next time...thanks for viewing!

I'm wondering if the "tuba" made you feel alive (uppers) or it made you feel sleepy (downer).

Why do we have to live abroad before we can make our very own backyard look extra extra special?
So beautiful, poignant, and nostalgic indeed we make a pact with ourselves "once we are done and have achieved our goals, we will retire here for keeps."
Which I did.
Pictures you shared with us leave us no choice but to live in beautiful Philipines forever.

Pictures you shared with us leave us no choice but to live in beautiful Philipines forever. It is the reason why I love mountain biking coz you get to explore mother nature...when I get my turn to retire (while still young of course), I'd like to do fishing, gardening, beach combing, camping, biking, biking, biking and biking...with all the different characters of the Pinoys, Philippines is still the best place to stay and retire...

What is the purpose of all these explore rides? Putting Pangasinan into the PinoyMTBiker map and introducing PinoyMTBiker to Pangasinan riders...there is also a reason why I am using a Merida instead of my other bikes...it is not the bling factor but the passion... I hope everyone else do their part, wherever you are... let it multiply...
