flor,
If your coming from san mateo you can take marikina all the way to ligaya. Then take marcos high way going to Robinson's east, turn left to cainta junction. Upon reaching the intersection/stop light turn left via ortigas extension ave. all the way ti tikling taytay, then turn right going to SM Taytay direction. After taytay Angono follows, there will be a Y-road after Meralco take the left road. Just follow the highway and when you reach Petron which is on the left side take the next road to it which is in front of Tumana Public School. That is the trail head at San Carlos Hills-Anthena-Petroglyphs.

Thank you so much, Pastor Ernie. I may try this on this Holy Week, if my injury permits me. I hope the route is a single track from the trail head?

After turning left at san carlos turn right at the first corner then left at the 2nd corner. you'll now face the steepest climb of the ride (till here is paved road). right turn at the end of the road to take you to the antenna at the top (gravel, loose rocks and asphalt chunks). the single tracks are after the antenna on the way to eastridge subd. the entry is by the big trees near aling wena's store. ask around and they should know where the bikers go.
once inside eastridge, left turn to another steep climb and you'll find dambuhalang bato. from there you can either go back to the antenna to go down to the main road or further inside the village is another exit albeit very steep paved descent.
good luck. don't forget to take pictures of yourselves while at dambuhalang bato.

wow. finally took interest in this inquiry. This is quite near my fathers place. Thank you for the info.
Is the antenna you are calling the one with the swimming pool on top of the hill? This is part of Binangonan already? If it is, i think it should serve as a landmark for the trail head for me too. I had been to that hilltop circa late 1960's, but on foot. This is very exciting. Now thats why lots of peeps here are raving about that place.
Very appropriate, for a Holy Week Journey. Could serve as my penance over my sins. But maybe i would push my bicycle on a bigger part of the journey. Thank you.

No swimming pool at the antena, brad. What you will find on top is a radio station antenna of 105.1 and I think it's a Meralco radio, also a sari-sari store of Rowena where lugaw is at its best! Near the area is where you enter a gap in the bushes that leads you to the single track going to East Ridge Village, that is where the swimming pool is... at the village club house.

thanks for the additional info, Rexman. I wonder though, where will we see the petroglyphs?

coming from the antenna, you have to go to eastridge subd through the single track. when you arrive at the paved road just head east. it's a slight uphill then downhill and the entrance to the petroglyph is to your left after the entrance to the golf course. theres a small sign just before a motorpool.
when you schedule your ride, try looking at the eb thread, some bikers might be planning to go there.

Hi Pastor Ernie and Rexman,
Been there last Saturday. Also got to petroglyphs after being lost for some time. THAT was some ascent! Thanks a lot for the directions.

You're very much welcome. Hope to see you there one time. By the way, have you tried Rowena's lugaw? Hehehe!

not yet. since we're new, we didn't know that we have to order a few days ahead of schedule. well, now we know, next time we will not get famished going to the top, and remain famished going down...
