Personally I only do about less than 50% i'm still too scared at the moment. ha ha ha but i'm planning to get that pedal with one side SPD and the other side platform. so i don't get accidentally clipped while doing urban assault.

It's gotten to a point that I feel awkward if I'm unclipped. So yeah, I clip in all the time now. I just try not to get careless while riding in the urban jungle.

hmmm........i simply cant live without being clipped in. even just going out to buy suka, i still have to use my shoes. in the office, i walk around with SPD shoes. ;D. riding thru traffic (cars and human) is such a breeze and gives you so much control when wearing clipless pedals. but doing urban stunts are a different thing like trials or conquering that gap you've always dreamed of where bailing out is needed in a blink of an eye. really depends on what you do to your bike i guess, hehe. ;D

I try to stay clipped in but tend to unclip one side when going through gnarly stuff like the common singletrack with barbedwire running alongside it (Sta Rosa)
so I guess Im just >50%. Thats for XC and Trailriding
DH : unclipped = flatpedals ...will try clipless this year though
bike commuting ... still >50% except going through really narrow gaps (just wide enough to pass) around really expensive cars heheheh (always unclip)

greetings! i gonna try clipped this year as par as sir arci encourage me to try it.....hihihihi. but i saw how a clipped biker fall down from a bike slow motion, it's scares me then 50% for no-go-no situation...anyway try to invest for a clipped pedal this year right after the "tour of the firefly"... any suggestion for a beginner like me, which clipped pedal is suited for starters? thanx

oi, na-extra name ko ;D falling down clipped is part of the learning process, but as they say everytime you fall down, just collect yourself, stand-up and move on....in no way will you become a better person (biker ) soon. the best way to start the transition is using a shimano (multi release) SPD cleat (SM-SH56) on your (clipless) shoes and setting the pedal's tension to it's lightest setting. once you get used to the motion of clipping/unclipping then you can decide on what to do next. the wonders of our body's adaptation to certain tasks regularly done (i.e. muscle memory). good luck brad and ride (clipless) safe ;D greetings! i gonna try clipped this year as par as sir arci encourage me to try it.....hihihihi. but i saw how a clipped biker fall down from a bike slow motion, it's scares me then 50% for no-go-no situation...anyway try to invest for a clipped pedal this year right after the "tour of the firefly"... any suggestion for a beginner like me, which clipped pedal is suited for starters? thanx

but i saw how a clipped biker fall down from a bike slow motion, it's scares me any suggestion for a beginner like me, which clipped pedal is suited for starters? thanx hayyyy...true, very true! ;D at times you would see the world upside down too! ;D the first time i fell clipped was in puray, and the sight was pretty funny and hilarious since the bike was still clipped and was on top of me! .. it was so slow-motion that i swear, i could count from one to ten, sing the lupang hinirang, and enumerate the presidents of the philippines from the time i lost balance to the time i hit the ground... hahaha!... i had to kick my bike off as so the weight won't drag me down the river hahaha! (thanks to arnold and jaymz by the way for helping me up hihihi!) ;D for beginners, imho, the shimano m520's are quite reasonably priced (the one with a plastic platform attached on one side of the pedal) ... and use multi-release cleats. curahee!

been using clipless since last year, and every time i go out, i stay 100% clipped but when i see jeeps, tricycles i tend to be conservative, i shift to lower gear, makes it easier for me to recover if i have to dap my foot.... i think falling is really part of it, but it does not give you a reason not to go clipless... with cleats, .... its even easier to do bunny hops with your bike to remove mud while in a trail... hehehe

I mainly use my fixie to commute and I've got toe straps. It'd be much easier using clipless pedals , but it would in a way, ruin the look of the bike. Sorry, I'm particular like that. ;D

me im clipped 100%, even on submarine mode. right fafi enzo? That actually saved you in a way, I can still vividly recall how your bike afloat with your foot clipped in while 90% of your body submerged. If not for that, you could've been wash away or went down the abyss. ;D

me? on road clipped about 90% of the time. i tend to immediately unclip before an unpredictable situation. but sometimes i forget.
last sunday, i was in the intersection of v.luna ext and anonas, when a taxi suddenly turned left without signalling. i should've not panicked but i did, i stalled and got out of balance. in less than 20 seconds i crashed and got up again. bad bad bad to crash in an intersection.

clipped 100% of the time. i just make a conscious effort to unclip whenever i feel i might get myself in a tight spot.
