Am just woried about the gov. about the menatality, whats in it for them? i mean you make a road and bikes dont get registered some of our parts are even smuggled or considers as surplus. So in the both in bicycle ownership and bicycle busniess theres a little amount of money for the govt. I mean kung ang tsikot nga ang daming tax and registration payment, dehins pa din maayos ang kalye, paano pa kaya ang bicycle.

have you heard the news about some jeepney operators are not in favor of those bicycle lanes..... there will less "pasaheros" for them if this thing will be implemented.... baka bigla nilang banggain ang mga naka-bike and just say "ooooops sorry...." utak talaga... instead they could help the campaign for lesser traffic and pollution and save some gas..... sus....

They estimated the cost of developing 200km of bike lanes as $200 million. Compared to other government budget items that's not much, but still lots of room for kickbacks.

Right on Woofers! Thats whats in it for some dirty pols looking for kickbacks. I'm not saying all those pols are in it only for teh kickback, though. There are definitely some who support bike lanes for reasons other than selfish ones.
Problema cguro, after installing the bike lanes, the govty may just neglect or forget maintenance and follow-through.
Darn jeepney operators!

It's SOP 200M? hehe more like 160M to build the lanes and 40M to our dear public servants The only time the govt moves quickly is when somebody's makin money It makes me laugh when a politico makes his usual " ito'y para sa bayan speech." They never fail to amaze me how they can say that with a straight face ;D Anyway, corruption or none, bike lane pa rin yan It 's good

closest shot siguro is to combine small motorcycle and bicycle.
$200 million>>?? Enough to stop poverty for a period of time.
Hmmmm
San kaya tayo kukuha ng funding?
I guess meron din naman if Metro mayors would get it from their own city tax. Atienza did built a bicycle lane. (Although pasyal lane lang) but i guess its a start hehehehe

Anu bang problema sa bike lane at nag iinarte pa sila dehins naman sa pera nila kukunin ang pambayad dito afterall ewan ko nga kung may nagbabayad ng tax sa kanila para tutulan ang ganitong program.

maybe with the presence of bike lanes, hopefully jeepneys and buses will have proper loading and unloading zone. and hopefully passengers will not just load/unload where they want but sacrifice a little walk, a little exercise won't hurt, unless of course you're physically challenged to walk. that way they won't just stop in the middle of a bike just my .02

Seems like everybody has "the best solution" for the problem...
Jeepney drivers/operators say that oil regulation is the answer. not bike lanes Motorcycle owners say that motorcycles are the answer. A MC lane must be created. Bikers say that having bike lanes and using bikes is the answer.
Seems that we have biases.
This morning i talked to my friend and he told me that the most practical solution right now is using small cars... Yeah right.. coz he has a small car...
Guys please don't think I'm not for bike lanes or for using bikes as a way of transportation. As a matter of fact I bike to work at least twice a week and I use it to go around town. It's just I think that the solution to the problem should be long term and attainable. Also this should not only stop there. Facilities must also be made like parking, showers/changing rooms. etc.

Dude the outer side of the baywalk is the bike lane, between Roxas Blvd and the establishments.. there are actually signs saying that the bikes are allowed on that side only and the bikes are not allowed in the other side, near the sea.

Don't bother with these bike lanes the road heirarchy will always be followed, watever law is passed. Pedestrians give way to bikes, bikes give way to pedicabs/scooters/cycles/cars (in that order), and cars give way to bigger automobiles, and bigger automobiles give way to....garbage trucks!!! So start savin up for a leonel carrier!!! Seriously, just get better at ridin yer bikes para makaiwas sa disgrasya, bike lanes will NEVER be followed. Mi dos sentimos...
