When we met with Ayala reps last Dec, they said some of the paking areas were free but some had fees.
We promptly told them that right now there are not that many bike commuters, their income from bicycle parking is negligable compared to the goodwill that they can generate by giving bike parking for free. They promised to look into this.
I have been to Ayala Center a several times since that December meeting. I have used their bike parking facilities including the underground parking at Glorietta 4. So far I have not been charged any fees for paking my bike. Maybe the Ayala management have accepted our suggestion.
We are currently into talks with Araneta Center. I hope that we will get the same positive response that we got from Ayala.

Dear Butilingpasay,
No problem parking at Salcedo Village. What I do is park where the motorcycles park and chain your bike to the railing. If you smile a lot at the parking attendant (usually MAPSA people) they usually give it for free. But if they do decide to charge you its only 20 pesos for the whole day.
You can also park beside the food carts. I sometimes chain my bike to the nearest railing or lampost to the food cart. Buy water or softdrinks from them and ask them couteously of they'd mind the bike. They usually say yes but they also tell you that they will not be responsible if its lost. Fair enough I think, at least its near their cart and I think this is enough deterrent for a bike thief.
Lastly, there are individual buildings that allow bike parking. Tower 1 at Ayala cor Paseo is bike findly. Just go into the underground parking, cvhain your bike beside the motorcycles and pay 20 pesos. That's for the whole day aready. RCBC is another building that allows bikes. Park your bike there and just walk to your appointment.
Salamat.

Because the last time I parked there which was October (forgot exactly) last year. I was charged with the same rates as motorbikes, but the first hour being free. I even showed pa my company ID, since our company leased some floors of PSE. In our building kase (Makati Stock Exch.), the small gray building just opposite Tower 1, within the Paseo Triangle, the parking of bikes was prohibited without giving me a valid reason. Thanks ^_^ So I can bike to work na ulet!

Sir rorschach,
Yup, that's the building, the entrance of the underground parking is along Paseo. As soon as you pass the toll booth parking is immediately to your left. Last time I parked there was before Christmas. They charge me 20 pesos for more than half a day and I was not the only bike parked there.

as im headed to glorieta earlier this day to meet someone, i decided to commute riding my bike.. i was, in myself, confident that i can park my bike in the designated bicycle parking areas along ayala center, but when i reached parksquare2 to park, i was told by the 2 manong guards that bicycles are not allowed to park there.. i was shocked by what the two told me, so i left and went to parksquare1 thinking that maybe finally i can park my bike there, i got the same reactions from the guards in parksquare1, i insists for them to allow me, even if i pay the parking fee, and still i was rejected.. i was really disappointed that time, so i end up in an open parking beside goldcrest, where "lagaristas" park their bikes.. i thought.................. ahhhhh.. what a day! it could happen to you also

Sorry to ask a question that will probably sound stupid, so please bear with me. But is it safe to park our bikes in these public areas? Okay, if I'm riding some basic utility bike I guess it would be okay. And I'm not even thinking of parking an Ellsworth bike there either... but what about mid-range bikes that still cost a lot of money.. is it safe?

How about other malls here in Quezon City? I went to SM North Edsa and they do not allow bike parking inside their covered parking lot they pointed me to the outside open parking wherein I think only 10 bikes can fit but 20 are crammed together as if packed like sardines. I said to myself no way will I park there.

And I'm not even thinking of parking an Ellsworth bike there either... but what about mid-range bikes that still cost a lot of money.. is it safe? safety might be contested only when your bike is already pilfered, but for my bi-week long experience at the open parking space behind Max's resto, my not too cheapo FS bike was remained untouched for a whole-day. i park beside lagarista bikes and even found a commuter bike with PinoyMTBiker sticker sharing the racks. but that maybe my risk appetite there... if i had an Ellsworth, i might differ How about other malls here in Quezon City?
