sorry to say this but the after market of canon sucks!!!!!! Care to share your bad experience with Canon? I've been to their service center for cleaning service and it was free as long as the camera was under warranty. I'm pretty satisfied so far, and a few pro photographer friends are as well. It's OK as long as your camera was purchased locally. Gray unit owners are reportedly given a harder time. we have a lot of cannon products (digital cameras) here is the office!!! and one of those is what i always use when i go out of town!!! on one of those trips the camera just died on me and when i went to the service center there in pasong tamo cor herrera and have it fixed they say to leave it and they will check it out and call me!!!! then after a month of waiting i called them and inquired to what happened to the camera!!!! they say they could fix it but charge me Php45,000.00 for a part!!!! WOW!!!! i went to hidalgo and they check it and said the lense only locked-up!!!!!! waiting for their call for a month is 1 thing but charging me Php54,000.00 man that the cost of a new camera!!!!!!!!!

My gf recently bought a canon camera, an ixus 850 is. It works great! ..but the 2gig Transcend SD card we got from the same shop is a little unreliable. I returned the SD card twice already because of card error. Hassle because there were already a lot of pics in both cards that malfunctioned. I'm not sure if it's the camera or the card, I really hope it's the card. Any views on this?
(sorry if I'm hijacking the thread.)

hello guys
With regards to digital camera it does matter whether you like point and shoot or getting more serious about like buying a DLSR. Point and shoot are great in tight and quick situations and Canon does make a name. On the otherhand DSLRs would be nice if your going to be more specific about your subjects, the lenses gives you new dimensions on your subjects.
I got myself a nikon D50 last year including the double lens kit. Its very nice when your planning to have a serious hobby in photography. I am very satisfied with it. So before you go to the shop, ask yourself if you want a point and shoot or a DSLR. regards

Problems with memory cards/or batteries (that are not fixed with the change of cards/batteries) might be a firmware issue which can be fixed by a firmware update by the manufacturer. Try to search the internet for the problem. If the problem is in the camera, demand that the vendor allow you for a refund (or at least an upgrade option) so you can get a different model. Cameras and memory cards and batteries are not supposed to have any compatibility issues nowadays!

Yes as gadget 88 said there should be no compatibility conflicts with the camera and memory media. I guess you should refer to your camera maker what recommended cards they approve for your camera.
