We need your help pass the RE bill now
Dear friends,
Starting last Monday, Greenpeace and other groups lobbying for the passage of the Renewable Energy bill have only 3 weeks before it's back to square one. Until now, the bill is not being tackled by our government which can be very frustrating.
We need your support to ensure that the RE bill is passed during the 13th Congress. Aside from the 10% by 2010 petition that we delivered last Monday, here are ways were in you, as individuals, can help:
1) Write to GMA. Urge her to certify the RE bill as a priority and urgent bill. Even if our legislators don't see it as an urgent bill, once the president says it's urgent they have to tackle it.
GMA's email address: corres@op.gov.ph
GMA's fax number: +63 (2) 736-1010
2) Wrtie to legislators. The bill is pending in the Senate. Unless the Committee on Energy (who is headed by Sen. Miriam Santiago) submit it to the plenary for discussion, it won't be discsussed by the Bicam and turned into an Act.
3) Letter to the Editor. Send LTEs to the media, urging the government to pass the RE bill this 13th Congress. Your future is at hand and you need to be heard.

4) Spread the word. The more people who can encourage our government to pass this bill the better.
I believe that letters that are signed by individuals have more milleage. We would appreciate though if you can blind CC us so we can monitor the news and the response of our legislators.
Be brief and concise with your demand and message. Let it come from the heart and everything will be clear.
Salamat in advance.
