bowlingformanila.com... and Ironically, hes a filipino himself ..... ...but of course, as he says, it's his opinion..... I think it's ok to forget about your roots, but to disrespect your roots altogether, thats a different story... ...Whatever...

read through some articles, and why I appreciate seeing things from a different perspective, the author clearly is not clear as to what is the difference between voicing out an opinion and making your opinion sound like fact. His article on Tag-Alog, What is the Use? is filled with historical mistakes. Thus, his supporting facts (which is the history of the Philippines) was already mired by his formed opinion already. Get the complete and correct facts first boy, then form your opinion on them.
So in his inspired article above, on questioning the use of Tagalog in the country at all, I remember a Philo teacher back in my college days. Philo in Ateneo is taught in Filipino, much to the dismay of one of the sosyal girls complaining how hard it is to understand the deep words used in that course. The Philo teacher just shouted at her, "P$&tang Ina Mo . . ., there, didn't that express it better."
So to Big Tone , "P&*#$tang Ina Mo!
Nothing else says it best. Oh yeah, you have much in common with Michael Jackson. You might want to become white as well

hehehe! has definitely very interesting views...he's against the use of native language then on another article he mentioned that pinoys are great pretenders?
well this is my opinion...i believe he is a first class, genuine, 100% pure and unadulterated bullshit...and i respect his opinions.

OT: well, most Visayan regions (and Mindanao as well) speak more prominently in english.
I also remember when I went to visit my relatives in bohol, my grandma always tells the kids to speak to me so they can learn tagalog well, but they're already good in english..
back to topic:
man, when I read this bit early this morning (I got it from another forum) man I almost died of laughing at this guy...
HE has all the pride in the world, sheesh....and look at him, his face looks very much Filipino....
man, to what extent do people really go to just to be accepted....
I remember the article by another Fil-am when she disgraced her own naitonality when the Filipino contingency (spelling?) was pulled out from Iraq (Iran?)...man, that was mostly like this one, but that one was more insulting.....
she called Filipinos cowards, and yet there she is at the confines of cyberspace, talking shite about her fellow countrymen....
people like these should just bow out and never surface again.... makes me wonder how their relatives feel......

You almost have to feel sorry for the guy. He hates Tagalog, but his English is pathetic. I wonder if he can express himself in any language.
I thought this was hilarious:
Debuts spoil Filipino women. This is one of the reasons why they are bossy. They always get what they want, and they are the attention to the family. They are treated like the princess. The boys are the dormant of the family. All they get is a college education if they wanted it.
I think somebody had a bad time with the girlfriend. And I don;t think he got that college education either. Maybe he didn't want it!

Has anyone read his bio...poor sud, earned a BS in Electrical Eng'g (more like paid) and couldn't get a career out of it? I have lots of friends (Ph educated) who're right now working there for multinational engineering companies so this meathead and its similar minded overgrown bacteria cousin would be out of the design work. God knows what mess they can do.

OT: marcs, your philo was taught in tagalog? ;D Ateneo de Davao if I remember right were taught I guess in english. Philo is taught in Filipino and English. You get to choose which class you take. The Philo teacher in Marcs' story is the famous (and eccentric) Fr. Ferriols.

|
|
Post by marcs on Mar 6, 2006 12:19:34 GMT 8
yep the ever famous Fr Ferriols with his 'Meron' which is the counterpart of 'To Be.' All other Philo teacher that uses Filipino are all apprentices of Fr Ferriols.
I believe he translated some latin works directly into Filipino.

I disagree.... today, westernization became a big problem in our culture because of globalization. or maybe he wasn't thinking right.
i really would love to see the look on his face when historians around the world negate this statement. Magellan was killed in Mactan Island just few kilometers southeast of Cebu.
Big Tone.... yeah right! where did he get that name?? wait till you hear from Big Brother!
pwede ba kasuhan ng libel yan? hehehe
