Well, some people are lucky enough to be born leaders. They have it in them to "lead" their fellowmen. They have the initiative and the drive do whatever needs doing, and encourage others to follow. They start something, and encourage others to help them finish. I am more like one of the followers, when I see something I agree with, I will help the leader do the job. The leader does not have to do everything himself, he has his people or followers to help him.

"Managing" is merely survival leadership ;D But true leaders set the direction and make doable things happen through other people. Aside from the usual known skills, he is passionate in the things he do and highly contagious. He usually surrounds himself with talented people who has the right attitude and spark new ideas. In short, Leadership is Gulliverism Oh, this is not the feel good thread pala...

;D ;D ;D from the posts above, we should know how lucky we are to have some really excellent people being a part of this forum something else to think about...leaders and followers complement each other, one cannot exist without the other. so to people who say that "you're the leader, you take care of it" and then hide...have not done their leader or themselves any good....but instead have abandoned him/her extinguishing the very purpose of their existence, to make things happen...together. i think this happens a lot in organizations around us, and is probably the cause of many of our problems...many of us are too dependent on our parents, our community leaders, our company bosses, our congressmen, our president...to take care of everything for us. leaders are not Gods, all-knowing and omnipotent, they exist b/c of us, and us b/c of them. both have obligations to each other, and a successful relationship is never one-sided. but its never that clear, that simple isn't it?
