I just spent the weekend in Bora and I had the chance to scoot around the island on an atv.
It's as plush as an All Mountain Bike and eats potholes for breakfast. But I noticed that it gets firm when you hit humps on concrete.
It was fun at first but then it got really tiring because the front was so heavy and it required a huge effort to steer. Aside from that, when I cranked the throttle the whole bike started vibrating like crazy. Oh and did i mention it was noisy as hell?
Maybe I just used a crappy ATV, but I think I'll stick to mountain biking. It's much quieter, and is more earth-friendly. Plus I don't think I would survive endo-ing an ATV if it lands on me.
Just because you can afford it, doesn't mean you have to buy it
Yup, you don't want one of those crashing on top of you. My brother was riding one on sand dunes when he had an accident and had one land on him . Lots of broken bones... including dislocated hip, broken pelvis, dislocated shoulder, 3 vertebra (two in his back had to be fused and one in his neck, cervical?). He's was lucky to get full mobility back, but spend 3 months in the hospital and many more months in rehad. Thank goodness for health insurance.
When my mtb lands on top of me, I only get bumps and bruises. I still want to ride one though... at least once.
Raul , got to see the atvs didnt ride them , too pricey for their size , ang liit I looked like I was riding on a toy A friend of mine has a big yamaha and a polaris I forgot the dis[placement but they are bigger and very fast and the suspension can swallow huge stair drops ganun kunin mo
