December 14 to 15, 2006
9 am to 6 pm
The 2-day “build your online store workshop” focuses on setting up and maintaining a well designed, dynamic and database-driven website with product catalog and shopping cart. The course focuses on technical implementation, but also covers the key business issues of developing a commercial strategy and marketing the site.
The workshop targets participants who have existing static or start-up websites, but want to move into the next level of e-commerce. Participants will be provided with the knowledge and step-by-step, hands-on practice of setting up, configuring and maintaining the website’s shopping cart, managing orders and inventory, and integrating an online payment system.
Participants, even with no prior experience, will be provided with the knowledge and step-by-step, hands-on practice of setting up and configuring a shopping cart and using the different features of web authoring tools such as Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 and Photoshop in managing the contents of an online shopping website. By the end of the workshop, participants would have created, published and able to manage a fully functional online shopping website.
