They order big time and are expanding all over RP. I work during the days and get hounded by calls at night and early morning.

You know what guys I learned a lot since I start working on a call center (ICT) especially this month when my shift starts at 12mn to 9am. 1st I got this before work syndrome, I feel very depressed going to work like I feel very depressed and everything, it even came to the point of passing my resignation letter. Yet after work I feel very satisfied at the end of my shift since I help out a lot of Americans. 2nd since I work as a telephone banker, It comes to my mind the phrase "THERE ARE SOME THINGS MONEY CANT BUY" like your regular saturday night bonding with some colleagues whos been with you since the beginning of time (because my shift falls on saturday and sunday thursdays and fridays are my off since some of them have a regular day job and most of them are still students) hell I almost got the boot for not reporting to work on a saturday which is a critical working day. The usual family bonding every saturday and sunday mid afternoon. And last I miss the mountain trails so much heheehehehehehe whenever Im on my paid break I keep on looking at the lonely window of our pantry and keep on asking myself "hmmmmmmmmmmm hows the mountain?" I even remember my college professor keep on braggin to me "AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TRY TO AVOID TO WORK ON A CALL CENTER" (no offense to my csr/tsr brothers/sister) its just that i cant forget how my professor say that to me, he sounds like a drill instructor.

Bert, I felt the same way when I tried out the call center field. I felt like it'd take a tow truck to bring me to work and I'd always find myself dragging my sorry @$$ from my place to the office. At this point, I was going through Cisco schooling so when I got hired, I figured it may be a way to get my foot in the door of the corporate world. Boy was I wrong. I got depressed to the point that I lost so much weight. I couldn't sleep. Work was the last thing in my mind before I slept, and the first when I woke up. Resigning was always at the back of my mind but I wanted this to come from my wife. Although I have my own business, it was my wife who pushed me to get a job to keep my brain "updated" so to say. Don't get me wrong. The work was great- my sched was perfect for riders like me. I had Sat and Sun off and worked from 2pm-11pm. But it just didn't outweigh my feelings. After a long talk with my wife (and a little drama), she told me to resign. I did. I only lasted a month. Currently, I work as a Network Engineer in Makati. My schedule is f'ckd up- I'm on call, and my shift changes every week. Meaning, since I work in a NOC environment, it's a 24/7 thing. I'm sometimes called to work on weekends. All these, as opposed to my former job that entails only a 10 minute walk to the office and a fixed schedule, outweighed the advantages of my present job: a chance to move up the ladder in a corporate set-up, travel, and the people surrounding me. Mostly, my job helps me with the path I recently chose to take: Networking. I guess the bottom line is, what do you want now, and in the end? What were you trained to do? You're young (unlike me). This being said, if you don't like where you're in now, just think of it as a stepping stone. While you're in there, look for more opportunities. Mingle with the people there. You won't believe how many of them have dreams like yours- and that is, to get out of that rut. Build a network, keep them as friends. A lot say that a call center job is a dead-end job. It actually is, but not if you do something about it. Goodluck brad! Hey yukon! Telco ka? Kami yun praning na tumatawag sa inyo pag down yun connection ng clients namin!

We all share the same sentiments. I\'ve been working in the call center industry since May 2003. Time and again I always say to myself get a better job will yah!! In most cases there are trade - offs when getting a non-call center job like (salary, place of work etc etc). Really biking and working in a call center is not a good combination. And for you to be able to keep up with your biking career it\'s either you bike alone or bike after work just to keep up with your biking buddies you\'ve never seen in months The only time you\'d appreciate both if you would get a good schedule, but rarely does this happen. I also am dragged to work especially if you do the same things everyday boring so to speak. For now what keeps me going is the biking to work thing. All I have to worry is to get to and fro from work safely. I can save a bit for future bike upgrades and most of all is the convenience getting to work instead of using PUJ\'s getting to work. Come to think of it I am not alone.. there\'s norbadoods and freeridejo at the 30th floor hehehe. Anyways another way to battle this scenario (call center and biking) is to look for another job which I am continuously doing.

This one scares me, one of my co-workers told me that one of his neighboor who works in a callcenter recently died they suspected that its because of stress from working night shifts, by the way that neighbor of his is working on a call center for 2 years now. Whew and one of my co-workers had also the same case. Whew! And also one of the employee in our company shared to me his story. Its that he already miss his wife because everytime he go home his son is already at school and his wife in her regular day job. He even told me that he missed the sunday mass with his family whew. I replied to him "I feel the same way brad I miss some good people who loves to ride the mountain trails during saturdays and sundays. Hell I even miss the mountain itself nyehehehehe"
