A chinese classmate from CHS introduced this to me. She did not tell me that it was raw, and the wasabi unclogged my nose from colds. Now, if I have extra from my marketing budget, I buy a kilo from our local market, slice it myself, buy SMlight and jam with my sweety.

A chinese classmate from CHS introduced this to me. You're an alumna of Holy Spirit? Me too. I was the one who introduced sashimi to my hubby and since then it became his favorite and orders it whenever we eat at Japanese restaurants. ;D We also buy frozen ones in a nearby fish store called Citra Mina.

My wife Anj and I are sashimi lovers also on special occassions, we get our fill of quality sashimi at the buffet of Paseo Rest. at Mandarin Hotel using the 50% membership card (with our two kids free pa!) the restaurant occasionally even shows the huge tuna that it slices up and yeah Lenard brad...we love the smoked salmon with dill sauce and capers there more On regular days , since its quite easy to tell if the tuna sashimi is of good quality (color, texture and pinch test), we buy sliced tuna from Citra Mina BF or other reputable shops

Me too..with petsay, string beans (sitaw) and tamarine mix for soury taste ORHow about fillet salmon seated on a dry seaweed, wasabe on top then put in the oven till cook (or after the salmon cook). Set the oven to 350 degree and when the salmon almost cook sprinkle with sesame seed and soy sauce. This is alternative for those person doesn't like raw salmon .

not to mention our own raw stuff like kilawin tanigue, kilawin dilis, ....hey i had an experienced eating raw squid...yep...a bucket all inked up with live squid then pick it up, then make SAW-SAW on a concoction of vinegar, chili(siling labuyo),onions, garlic, salt,a bit of soy sauce....
the thing was still alive in my troath then it was filthy sweet taste!

guys and gals, can i share something here, sushi and sashimi lover here too. ive seen on tv, anthony bourdain-no reservations program i think, it was said that the correct way to eat sashimi as far as wasabi is concerned is to not stir mix it with the soy sauce, just put it in with the soysauce dont stir and mix the two just dip the raw fish in the combination....and never put calamansi, it will ruin the taste (not that it will taste bad but it will not taste as what its meant to be) me? yes i enjoy it that way, the heat escaping thru my nostrils...
