I have a huge crush on Nigela Lawson and Tonia Buxton (My Greek Kitchen). I closely follow Anthony Bourdain, even if he doesn't do any cooking in his show. I also like the fact that we both hate Rachel Ray and Emeril. ;d
Other shows that I like watching are: Kylie Kwong Jamie Oliver ( Naked Chef) Jamie at Home Made to Order (Kahit mukhang lasang kamay na yung food nila due to too much handling ;D) I also miss the cooking show of the chinese lady in channel 9 every sunday morning.

donfacundo -?> then why not build one? ;D " I am not a chef, I am italian" --- david rocco.[glow=red,2,300][/glow] let put it this way... ever wonder why philippines has no gourmet cuisine? Gourmet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gourmet) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search A gourmet is a person with a sensitive and discriminating palate, and who is knowledgeable in fine food and drink or haute cuisine. The word is from the French gourmet, a valet in charge of the wines. It is often used as an adjective for meals of especially high quality, whose makers or preparers have used special effort or art in presentation or cooking the meal, or for facilities equipped for preparing such meals, such as a restaurant. The term and the practice may have negative connotations of elitism or snobbery, but is often used positively to describe people of refined taste and passion. Gourmet is often used to modify another noun: gourmet cooking, gourmet restaurants. (French, from Old French, alteration – influenced by gourmand, glutton; see Gourmand – of groumet, servant, valet in charge of wines, from Middle English grom, boy, valet.) A gourmet is a person with discriminating taste in food and wine, as is a gourmand. Gourmand can also mean one who enjoys food in great quantities. An epicure is much the same as a gourmet, but the word may sometimes carry overtones of excessive refinement. Foodie is often used by the media as a conversational synonym for gourmet. The word was coined synchronously by Gael Greene and by Paul Levy and Ann Barr, co-authors of The Official Foodie Handbook (1984). But there are important distinctions to be made between the two terms. Some gourmets would not consider themselves foodies and many foodies would not consider themselves gourmets. Generally speaking, a foodie is a person who has a special interest in food, even foods at which a self-identified gourmet would turn up his nose.[citation needed] Certain events such as wine tastings cater to people who consider themselves gourmets and foodies, while publications such as Gourmet magazine often serve gourmets with food columns and features. HTH Ben Dover please pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is the meaning of gourmet cuisine?

You're welcome Ben Dover Maybe i can't thoroughly explain what Gourmet Cuisine is all about. Perhaps I can direct you to the following restos (and taste it to believe it): -Lolo Dad's (Along Quirino, Manila) -Le Muria (Along Horse Shoe Village, QC)

gourmet is an adverb use to distinguish how a person or an organization that gives a higher notch to the mediocre. (food for example)
fine dining restaurants are example. there are many discussions about why do you have to pay around 3000pesos for a decent meal (3 courses) at Lemuria but you can EAT that same amount for the whole tropa at jollibee. its the dining experience that you have to pay for, the knowledge of the chef, the dedication of the staffs, the professionalism of everyone in the kitchen.
attention to details is also a great part of this gourmet thing.
the availability of local, authentic and indigenous ingredient are also considered gourmet if done in the professional manner.
HTH
